For a dinner party, a romantic meal, or just a quick family dinner, this shrimp linguine recipe is quick and simple to prepare. Shrimp salad prepared already is excellent! I occasionally use chicken instead of shrimp to make another delicious dish!

Prep Time: 10 mins
Cook Time: 15 mins
Total Time: 25 mins
Servings: 8

Ingredients

  1. 1 ½ pounds cooked fresh shrimp
  2. 6 tablespoons butter
  3. 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  4. 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  5. ½ cup chopped parsley
  6. 3 tablespoons chopped fresh basil
  7. ½ teaspoon dried thyme
  8. ¾ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  9. salt to taste
  10. ground black pepper to taste
  11. 1 (16 ounce) package linguini pasta

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Cook linguine at a boil until tender yet firm to the bite, about 11 minutes.
  2. Meanwhile, melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add garlic, and sauté briefly to release flavor. Add cream; heat just to boiling, stirring frequently. Reduce heat to low; stir in shrimp, parsley, basil, and thyme. Continue cooking until shrimp are just heated through; remove sauce from heat.
  3. Drain pasta and toss lightly with cream sauce. Add Parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper to taste; toss again and serve.

The recipe was kind of bland. I added mushrooms, onion powder, old bay and creole season. I think it came out great

very tasty recipe. will make again.

I found the original recipe to be too strong on parsley. I’m lactose intolerant so I skipped the cream and added white wine and followed another comment by boiling the shrimp in cayenne water. I was much more impressed the second time!

I followed directions exactly and the Parm. Cheese clumped up. My guest even asked me if it was goat cheese. It tasted okay.. very mild almost no taste. I would spice with up with cayenne pepper or something. i will go back to using my old recipe for this dish. And I wont do a new dish when company is coming over. Bad call on my part.

I made it and it was delicious. However I always add a little more garlic than any recipe calls for, and I did so here as well. Also, I added more parsley, basil, and steamed asparagus.

Like another cook, I boiled the shrimp with about 1/4c Creole Seasoning.

I mixed a teaspoon of corn starch with water and thickened the sauce slightly. The sauce is light and lively and the recipe is awesome!

Love this recipe waaaay better than I expected for something so simple, I did add Slap Ya Mama seasoning to the shrimp to give it a lil extra something. Added green and red peppers honestly didn’t even need them, just added them so they didn’t go to waste in the fridge. But I added them towards the end so it didn’t really pick up the flavor, overall the meal was amazing!

Definitely adding to the rotation. Based on a comment, I added chili flakes for a little heat.

This was easy and delicious!!!! Do not substitute the heavy whipping cream, it makes the dish. In fact, you can add just a little more! I did strain the garlic out of the cream so not to bite into pieces of garlic. For the shrimp, I purchased the Tequila Lime Shrimp from Costco; already seasoned and tasted great! It’s a favorite and will be used often.

good recipe, only thing was 16oz was too much pasta. I would go with 12oz and I doubled the garlic and added a jalapeño during the simmer with garlic. oh and quarter cup more cheese

Easy and delicious with two minor changes. I cooked shrimp in hot cast iron skillet for a minute until starting to be opaque them removed from skillet. Cooked remaining ingredients with a dash or two of white wine vinegar. Trust me in the vinegar :). Easy and delicious!

i made this just as the recipe said and it was delicious! Only thing I changed was I didn’t use all of the pasta, I wish I’d have saved some of the pasta water to add at the end to make it a little creamier. Definitely a keeper!

Delish! Made exactly as recipe directs, but had to sub dried basil for fresh as I was out. I cook for my hubby, two sons and my mother in law….Not easy to please us all, but this one did the trick!

This dish was very easy and delicious! Like others, I used half and half instead of heavy cream. It was light and tasty. I also added some chili pepper for a little “kick”. The family loved it! I will definitely make this again.
