Ingredients

  1. Taro root, peeled and steamed
  2. Water

Instructions

  1. Mash the taro with a stone pestle, or “poi pounder”. Add water until the poi is smooth and sticky.

Loved it! My daughter wanted a Hawaiian themed birthday party and this was the perfect side for the roasted pig. The fact that is was purple blew her mind! I will so make this again instead of mashed potatoes.
