Zax sauce is a spicy, creamy condiment that goes great with sandwiches, chicken fingers, and fried chicken. It’s a fantastic substitute for regular BBQ sauce. This replica recipe is for you if you enjoy Zaxby’s Zax sauce! You can add as much black pepper as you desire; I like to use a whole teaspoon.

It tastes AMAZING!!! I loved it, it didn’t taste the exact same as Zax sauce, I didn’t really care!!
Love it! Tastes closer to the original than I ever thought possible. Many thanks from a Southern girl living in Sweden, where no Zaxbys exist!
Easy to follow instruction and taste exactly like the real deal zaxby sauce thanks for sharing the recipe
tastes exactly like the zaxbys sauce! qnd now i have 10x as much for less money
If you add some seasoned salt it tastes more like it .
My 10-year-old granddaughter loves Zaxby’s chicken fingers but, more importantly, the “Zax Sauce”. Unfortunately, I live no where near one of the restaurants so I used this recipe to give her the sauce to dip her chicken tenders in. She loved it & said “Papa, you got it just right”. Therefore, as far as I’m concerned, this is the real deal.
I added vinegar and extra pepper, Worcestershire, and added Texas Pete. It tastes exactly like raising canes sauce! Thank you!
Mmmm! I made this! Absolutely delicious! Recipe Saved!! 😀
Tastes just like it! I was really amazed how exact this recipe looks and tastes.
My mom made this for me last year for her homemade chicken tenders. Everyone loved it!
Nice mild sauce I may add a dash of hot pepper sauce next time.
I made no changes and found it to be quite tasty. Will make again. Very simple.
Yummy!!!! make a double batch.
Used more garlic and organic Ketchup and a little cayenne . Yum
Will make it again!
I have never been to the restaurant. I was just looking for a different dipping sauce for vegetarian chicken nuggets. It was definitely okay, but I think it would be better on a sandwich than nuggets. Not sure how it would be on French fries I’ll keep looking for a new dipping sauce.
I thought it was really good. The only thing I did different was I added 2 drops of Caroline Reaper sauce in it too kick it upa notch.
Great sauce didn’t like the after taste that much but overall very good though
This is a very good base! I liked the recipe as written quite a lot. However, the second (and third and fourth and fifth, etc) times I made it I added a splash of vinegar, some paprika, and some cayenne pepper and I liked it a little better. It’s closer to Zaxby’s with the extra zing.
Yeah, That’s pretty darn good. One thing though. Everybody says Zax sauce or Zaxby’s sauce, but Zaxby;s actually copied it from Guthries. In fact, they even copied their main deal. Chicken, fries and a piece of toast. That was Guthries, before Zaxby’s was even created. Now I don’t know if Guthries stole it from somebody else, but they had it before Zaxby’s
Super quick and delicious. A new favorite at our house! Will definitely use again very soon!
