Great recipe! I was too lazy to dice onions so guesstimated how much 2 tbsp would be, sliced it thin & put it in blender. Thank you for this keeper 🙂

I loved it. I added only one thing: fresh garlic to the blender.

Thanks for another great recipe! Simple with ingredients I had on hand, a great go to when you don’t want to head to the store for ingredients.

It’s great if you like ketchup. To my sister and I we only tasted ketchup.

My 15 yo son likes it better than bottled. That’s good enough for me!

Very easy to make. I may not buy bottled salad dressings again. The taste was great.

This was extraordinary!!!! We all loved it. I followed the directions with the exception of adding more onion, as we all love onion. We used it right away as a fry sauce then chilled it. It thickened quite a bit, so I may adjust for that. But thank you so much for this wonderful recipe!!!

I made a small batch for dinner with my family. Found it to be a delicious and easy recipe to make when dressing is needed in a pinch. Would also make it for family events or lunches. Would do again.

I have made this dressing a lot. It has become one of my favorite. Very good. Easy to Make. the only thing i did different was use apple cider vinegar instead of white and mix with a wisk.

I have made this recipe for 30 years or better. It was in my husbands family recipes when I met him. To avoid the tinny taste it may have due to the onions being juiced, so to speak, after it sets a few days in the fridge, I use onion powder. If you are using it all right away, use the real onions. Just my opinion.

Made this dressing and was a HUGE Hit!!

Without the mayo, a variation of the measures and adding raw egg, this is used in all Southern Oregon Chinese food restaurants for fried shrimp and Mar Far. I would never think this should be used as a salad dressing, but whatever. It’s to DIE for with Chinese, though. You can’t run a successful Chinese restaurant here without this sauce. That’s what a big deal it is. You won’t be welcomed of it’s not in the menu. It’s a cult following and even has its own Facebook page.

I made this following the exact recipe and it turned out great. All five of my kids approved too!

My family loves this dressing. We use it for a dipping sauce as well as salad dressing. I cut back the sugar to 1 Tbsp and have used a variety of vinegars..such as Rose’, red wine, champagne…my favorite is red wine.

This has quickly become one of our favorite salad dressings. Easy to make and quite tasty! Only change we made was to use Greek yogurt instead of mayo (a standard replacement in our house).

OMG you are a salad life saver. I am in Australia, French dressing is not available here and it’s my favorite dressing! Thank you sooo very much for sharing Chef Joe!! Love it. I only used 1 TBSP sugar for a half batch and subbed Veg oil for Canola.
Miranda Melton
This is delicious. I didn’t change a thing. I used a wand for blending.

Very Good and easy dressing. Used EVOO instead of oil and low fat cottage cheese instead of mayo
