Garlic Croutons

The flavor is surprisingly intense for such a straightforward dish with so few components. The onions cook up creamy and go great with grilled or broiled sausages. When paired with mashed potatoes, this is fantastic.

  1. 4 tablespoons butter
  2. 1 clove garlic, minced

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

I followed the instructions exactly and they were delicious! I put them on top of a Caesar salad for a family birthday gathering and my stepdaughter loved them! So did everyone else. Of course she asked for the recipe! Fresh minced garlic cloves and real butter is the clue!

I made a double batch and follow others suggestions by adding Italian seasoning. I burned a couple of them so keep a close eye on them after the 12 min mark. Tasty!

I used a combination of garlic puree and garlic granules. The biggest variance was I placed them on open shelves in an air fryer. Wow. No turning etc and 9/10 minutes later perfect.

Excellant recipe. I added a little Italtin Seasoning and a very little oregano along with garlic powder. They were excellant. I live in the Philippines, and they all loved it also.

Mixed 50/50 salted butter/EVOO for less saturated fat. Used three-day old French baguette (stale, but not hard/inedible). Me

Fantastic! Nothing better than simple and yummy in my book! Once I forgot to buy French bread, and used hamburger buns that I had on hand. They were delightful too. I’ll never use store bought croutons again.

I made these using Udi Gluten free bagels and OMG so delicious.

So easy and a great way to also use up old breads. I used rye and rosemary bread from a local baker that I forgot to freeze.. so glad I looked this up- so good and a gray addition to holiday salad and spuds!

These are wonderfully so very easy. Recently, I had some processed croutons which I did not read the label prior to consumption. And then “Oh no,” stomach distress—and I determined very quickly it had to be processed with (poison to my digestive system) rapeseed oil aka Canola Oil! So, I was very happy to find this recipe for which I control the ingredients! Thank you!

Love love love! I used a whole Italian loaf, 1/2 c butter, and a full packet of Italian dressing mix. Perfect in flavor! I hope they last til my dinner party tonight!

Yummy, yummy croutons!!!!

Would like to season them a bit more. Took more like 30-40 minutes for them to get crunchy! But, they came out great!

These came out great! It was a good use for a bread that I made a few days ago. Per some of the reviewers, I used garlic powder (probably double what is stated) and some dried parsley, adding to the melted butter. I lined my baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup. It’s a basic recipe, so you could try with different seasonings, cheese, etc. I did bake them a few minutes longer. This would be a good snack, too, or to go in soups. Thanks for the recipe! UPDATE 5/19/20: After two days, these became chewy and soggy, not crisp. I can’t eat like this, so I’m tossing.

I made this recipe and it turned out great. I just added Italian seasoning and Parmesan cheese.

Called use the bread you got. Off the shelf whole wheat and the only other change was 1/4 Italian seasoning and sprinkled with shredded Parmesan cheese. Delicious, easy and basic enough to try different things with.

Awesome! Followed recipe exactly. They’re not as good when they’re still warm but they get REALLY GOOD (and addicting) as they cool. I can see eating a lot more salads if they include these!

So easy!

Best croutons ever. Far better than store bought. I also appreciated being able to use bread I was going to throw away because it was stale. I will never buy croutons again. Not only that, when I served them, one of my guests asked me where I bought them because they were so fresh. When I explained I had made them, she gave me the most amazing look that vacillated between jealousy and hatred!!! It was awesome!

Miniature Garlic breads. So good.
