a simple, quick recipe for applesauce. So that we always have some, I doubled it and canned it. My household adores it.

This turned out really good. I liked the cloves in it. The only thing is it needs the step of mashing it. I used an immersion blender and left some pieces of apple to keep it chunky.

I tripled the recipe and because we LOVE chunky applesauce this was amazing. I used Crimson Crisp apples fresh from the orchard and didn’t add any sugar. Excellent snack for my husband who is Type I diabetic and needs to avoid extra sugars. Of course, I loved it too!

1st time making applesauce & was super simple & delicious! Used 1/2 the amount of sugar, might not even add that much next time. Put in blender from stovetop, leaving a few pieces of apple for some chunkiness. Fed to some family & people gave rave reviews!

I used a Kitchen Aid peeler slicer and a hand ricer to mash the apples, also I added a pinch more sugar.

So easy!

Very similar to my usual apple sauce recipe, although I do make two small changes. I use light brown sugar instead of white and a pinch of nutmeg instead of cloves. I always adjust the quantities of water, sugar and spices according to the apples I am using as some apples need more/less of the other ingredients. Other than that, this is a can’t miss recipe that is close to impossible to mess up.

This is an excellent recipes as is but for a sugar-free sweetener, try 1/8 c. organic maple syrup.

Easy to follow, love that you can adjust it for cup size not pound or counting apples. Tastes a bit tart even though I added extra sugar to mine, kids will love it though.

Left out the cloves, liked it.

I love it if I have one criticism I feel it’s too watery but I still loved making it. I also only used a cinnamon stick instead of ground still yummy It made my home smell amazing

Great, simple recipe! I’ve made it several times now. Per other reviews, I do not use 1/2 c. sugar, usually taste & only use about 1/4 c. or less. Then use blender for smoother texture after everything’s soft. The spices are perfect!

Made it a couple times and it’s a been a huge hit. I adjusted for the amount of apples I had, substituted the sugar with Truvia baking blend (use 1/2 the amount of sugar called for), and added just a touch of nutmeg in addition to the cinnamon.

The recipe is so good. I didn’t really make any changes to it

Very delicious. Do not cover. Trust the ingredients given.

This tasted really good. We enjoyed it. I used brown sugar instead of white for a fuller taste. It took 25 minutes for mine to cook. I used a potato masher to smooth out some of the lumps. I plan to make it again; delicious!

Super simple and low sugar- I used Granny Smith apples and it gave it plenty of sweetness!

I have actually made this applesauce several times and it has always been a hit with the gang. This has to be one of the easiest recipes to make on this entire web site. The hardest part was peeling and sectioning all the apples. There are only five ingredients in the recipe and I eliminated one of them – the cloves. I don’t love cloves except in a baked ham but I do love the cinnamon flavor in this applesauce. I didn’t use as much sugar as is called for but if people want it sweeter then more sugar can be added afterward. Enjoy!
