Apple Baked Beans

We all adore this salad, which is made by my coworker Lori whenever she is in charge of Friday morning, and it’s quite simple to make. It’s perfect for the hot summer months because cooking is not at all necessary.

This was delicious. The only change I made was not to add any sugar. The+apple+and the Sweet Baby Ray’s BBQ sauce added enough sweetness

It was just okay. I halved the recipe. I did not drain the beans but I wish I had drained at least 1 can because not doing so, made it too runny. Sorry, but this is not a recipe I will save.

This recipe came out Awesome. I added onion (frying them in the Bacon Grease. No raisins. Has enough sugar. The BBQ Sause I used was Heinz Carolina Mustard BBQ Sauce , because that’s all I had open. Nice Flavor. Mustard goes with beans anyway. Got a 5 rating from me. Time to get another dish.

Made this for a picnic with friends. Everyone was crazy about it. I didn’t add the raisins. Will definitely make this again and will try it with the raisins.

Turned out really good. Everyone enjoyed it! I did half the recipe for 6 and decided on draining half of one can of the beans from some of review comments, but will not do that next time. It needed all the juices.

Loved them! My wife and I had some friends over for a barbecue meal. I made the recipe along with a brisket and coleslaw and they were a hit. I kept the bean sauce in the recipe and used Joe’s (KC) barbecue sauce as my sauce of choice. I only wish that this sauce was more readily available because the flavor was wonderful and added just a hint of smokiness. I’ll have to use other sauces as a comparison but the other ingredients (I’d never added apples or raisins to a bean recipe before) were a nice touch. I’ll definitely be making these beans again…and soon!

it turned out great. you can drain if you want less liquid/drier beans.

Probably the best baked bean dish I’ve had. They were a great side dish that everyone loved. I followed the recipe exactly and used Campbell’s Pork and Beans, and Famouse Dave’s Rich & Sassy BBQ sauce. I only used one apple as well. The only thing I would change is to remove some of the liquid from the beans.

love it ! didn’t use the raisins..

Took to a cookout and everybody loved. I think cook time is a little too long. Especially if you’re going to reheat before serving.

This baked beans recipe was so easy to make. I put it in a slow cooler for 8 hours. It was a hit for the whole family. My gourmet chef son commented, “best babes beans ever!

I used more bacon, tossed in a dash of cayenne and instead of the raisins, I used Ocean Spray Craisins. This turned out to be very good. The apples gave it a really nice texture. Goes nice with BBQ pork loin. I’ll make it again.

Best baked beans I ever made

I thought this sounded really good and a bit of a change from the typical beans. I left out the raisins but added about a 1/2 cup onions I cooked in the bacon grease and also added about 1/2 teaspoon of browning sauce. I do recommend reducing the brown sugar a bit unless you like your beans sweet. If you want to make those apples stand out more cut them larger.

Delicious! I used soy bacon and vegetarian baked beans to make it vegetarian. I cut the brown sugar by half. Definitely a keeper. Even better the second day.

By far the best beans period to eat with BBQ . I know BBQ being from NC not saying we are the best but these beans will make any BBQ the best hands down !!!
