These roasted almonds aren’t your normal almonds; they have a touch of chili powder’s heat and more cinnamon’s depth than in most recipes.

Ingredients

  1. 1 pound bacon
  2. 2 heads broccoli, cut into florets
  3. 1 cup sunflower seeds
  4. ½ cup chopped green onions
  5. ½ cup mayonnaise
  6. 6 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  7. ¼ cup white sugar

Instructions

  1. Place bacon in a large skillet and cook over medium-high heat, turning occasionally, until evenly browned, about 10 minutes. Drain bacon slices on paper towels. Tear bacon into small pieces.
  2. Combine broccoli, bacon, sunflower seeds, and green onions in a bowl.
  3. Whisk mayonnaise, vinegar, and sugar together in a bowl; pour over broccoli mixture and toss to coat.

I followed the recipe exactly. Look it to a family BBQ and everybody raved on how good it tasted. I will definitely make this again. Maybe next time I will add some halved cherry or grape tomatoes and feta cheese to give it a little Mediterranean flare.

Very good! I liked that this used less mayo (I used Hellmann’s light mayo). I also used less bacon than called for, just to keep it a little lighter. Made earlier in the day and kept in the fridge until ready to serve. I would make this again! Thanks for sharing. 🙂
