Great Recipe!! I used the exact ingredients. Prep and cook times are accurate. I used a dash of Allspice when mixing.

Love a cake that comes together quickly and this 100% is a big tick and really delicious. I buy yellow cake mix from an American grocery store in Melbourne. If I to make again and I haven’t got a yellow box cakemix, would just a plain butter or Vanilla cake box mix work as well.

No changes, turned out great!

Don’t cut back on the sugar. Add a few drops of fresh lemon juice to the batter to tone down the sweetness. Don’t over bake it. Should be very lightly browned. The top of the cake should look almost like layers of crêpe paper. The recipe I use asks for 3 1/2 cups of powdered sugar. Perfect amount.

I ‘whoopsed’ and used a 8×10-ish baking dish and got a LOT more gooey, and it was fantastic. Ate it warm with barely a dash of powdered sugar on top, no ice cream etc. Messy as could be to serve, but WOW!

Ramona 2022 Made it before it was a hit with everyone. Wanted to make again and lost recipe. I was frantic until I found it. Will make again today.

Absolutely AMAZING! I added 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips to the yellow cake mixture and skipped the dusting of powdered sugar.

I made this exactly as directed for Thanksgiving and got a lot of compliments on it. My husband really liked it and requested I make homemade vanilla ice cream with it next time.

Excellent! I used Butter Recipe cake mix (because it’s what I had on hand) and it turned out delicious!

with a couple of minor changes, these were good. The Duncan Hines brand cake mixes still make them in the stated size for this recipe. I used a butter flavored one, and this made for a nice tasting bottom layer. I did however add a tsp of vanilla extract to the cream cheese layer; otherwise I thought it might be a bit bland and I’m glad I did. Since these are not a very ‘pretty’ looking bar on top, the dusting of confectioner’s sugar can cover those cosmetic flaws 🙂 and make for a pretty presentation. easy recipe, and they go over well. I found they tasted best served more on the chilled side.

It didn’t turn out as sweet as I thought it would. Very sweet and buttery

I’ve made it several times (usually a triple batch) for large church dinners. Always a big hit! I do cut back on the powdered sugar on top.

It was just okay. Not gooey at all. By the time the top browned, I think the cake dried out. I won’t make again.

I made the recipe the way it’s written. It was not very ooey or gooey. Other than that, it was good. I don’t plan on making it again.

This was a nice and easy dish to bring to a neighborhood block party. I recommend going by other reviewers and add a 1/4- 1/2 bag of chocolate chips. Definitely gave it a great flavor
