Rich crescent rolls and gooey cheese make a simple snack or addition to a quick spaghetti supper. And only three ingredients are needed for the entire dish! Use crescent rolls flavored with butter or garlic.

Prep Time: 10 mins
Cook Time: 16 mins
Total Time: 26 mins
Servings: 4
Yield: 8 mozzarella sticks

Ingredients

  1. 1 (8 ounce) package refrigerated crescent roll dough
  2. 4 ounces mozzarella cheese, cut into 8 slices
  3. 8 ounces pizza sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  2. Unroll crescent roll dough on work surface and separate into 4 rectangles, pressing perforations together to seal. Cut each rectangle into 2 smaller rectangles. Place 1 slice of mozzarella cheese on each; roll up tightly and press edges together to seal. Arrange seam side-down on a baking sheet.
  3. Bake in the preheated oven until golden brown, 11 to 13 minutes.
  4. Warm pizza sauce in a small saucepan over medium-low heat, about 5 minutes. Use warmed sauce as a dipping sauce for mozzarella sticks.

This was very tasty . I used mozzarella sticks in place of the cheese. I cut them in 1/2, then froze them for 2hours.i brushed the rolls with melted butter and then sprinkled them with Italian herbs before baking. I also baked them at 400 for less time. About 8 minutes.

We liked these! I would think of them more as ‘cheesy bread’, but either way, they were good. I think next time I will brush them with some garlic butter after removing them from the oven for a bit more flavor. Thanks for sharing. 🙂
