This is quick, easy and delicious! I added jalapenos and used barbecue sauce instead of ketchup.

I’ve done baked beans using almost this same recipe for a long time but as I was usually making it for maybe 15 to 20 people I doubled all the ingredients plus I added maybe a half cup of barbeque sauce which I think adds to the flavor. I used baked beans in a can so I also drained as much of the sauce/juice from the cans so it wouldn’t be too soupy.

Exactly how my mother makes them. I did cut back on the sugar, I didn’t want anyone’s glucose levels to spike. Still, just as good with a “tad” less sugar.

Easy way to dress up canned beans. I used Bush baked beans original flavor which is already really good, but this takes it to the next level. Great for potluck, which is what I b

I used the recipe but made it my own. I used 2 cans of tri blend beans instead but kept the other ingredients the same. I also simmered it on the stove. The flavor was excellent. I love this simple, easy recipe that is exploding with flavor.

Oh my goodness were these bean good! I brought them to our family 4th of July cookout! Even my 2 grands loved them! There was not a bean left in the bowl! The only thing I did differently was add a 1/2 Teaspoon of Liquid Smoke. I just love smoke flavor in my baked beans. These recipe is definitely a keeper! Thanks for sharing!!!! I appreciate on the reviews as well!

This was a good base. I followed the instructions exactly the first time and modified the next and was pleasantly surprised. I ran out of the pork and beans cans from the first attempt. I soaked pinto beans overnight. I had pork shoulder chunked up and deforested so I took about 3 oz and cut it into about 1/2 inch bits and cooked that and 1 lb of bacon in the same cast iron until nearly crispy. I added the onion to the mixture and when the bacon was crispy and onions caramelized, I removed the heat and added the brown sugar, about 1/4 teaspoon of chipotle chili pepper, 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika, 1/8 teaspoon of Mexican chili powder and 1/8 teaspoon of cayenne. I put this mixture and the rest of the ingredients into my instant pot so as to not take chances with raw beans. Pressure cooked for 1 hr 20mins. Very delicious, a huge hit.

These were the best baked beans that I have made in a while. The flavor turned out slightly sweet and just a little spicy, and the only issue I had was that the sauce was kind of runny. Not exactly sure how to fix that, but I’ll play around with the recipe a little. Tasted great though!

Awesome base recipe for easy baked beans. I double everything except for the brown sugar. I used bacon end pieces I get from a local butcher and fry them first with the onion before adding. I also drained the extra juice from the canned beans.

Every time we’re invited to a barbecue type potluck I’m asked to bring these. We even had a taste test here yesterday, bushes baked beans versus bushes baked beans done with this recipe. This one definitely won hands down

I actually forgot I was out of brown sugar. and on a whim I used maple syrup. It turned out amazing!

This is a good recipe that adds flavor to your bake beans. I prefer a less sweeter version, so I changed a few things. First I doubled the beans, then I used a good BBQ sauce instead of ketchup. I also added a tablespoon of liquid Smoke and 1 1/2 teaspoon of New Mexico Red Chili powder. This gave a deeper savory, complex flavor!

Used this recipe several times. I make these beans in my smoker and everyone loved them as much as the smoker meat. Never tried the oven version but sure it is a!most as good.

I never rate recipes…..that being said I will never do beans another way!!!!!! I used the cheap cans of pork and beans and just drained one of them. No problems it being runny or anything. Truly thank you for this recipe!

I’ve made this before and it’s amazing! I did a bacon weave on top this time and plan on baking it in the morning as a side for Thanksgiving dinner! Super excited. Thank you
