Flavor was good but this got really thick. I even added more milk in the pan, but by the time we got it to the table it was almost like pudding and had to be spread on the biscuits.
Best recipe I’ve found for chocolate gravy…I did add a little vanilla extract and it turned out perfect!
It tastes like pudding yum!
added more butter. removed some sugar and BOOM!! just like granny used to make. thank you!
Simple to prepare and delicious!
No changes were made. Made exactly as recipe, and Family loved it.
Delicious, I added vanilla.
Perfect and easy to make. If it seems like it’s not thickening turn the heat up a little and keep stirring.
My son loves this. And he is very picky. Reminds me of the chocolate gravy my granny use to make. The only thing I do different is to add a splash of vanilla. Thanks.
Love it! Best recipe yet! You can make it exactly as directed or add 1/2 c. Creamy Peanut Butter… Great either way!!!
I loved it! Although I should have cut the recipe in half! Oh well works for chocolate pudding to!
Great recipe! I reduced the sugar to 1/2 cup, and added 1 tsp vanilla and a pinch of salt at the end. This is my daughter’s favorite!
This was perfect. Kid and adult approved! The only change I made was in the preparation-wisk all dry ingredients in a bowl first then add it to the butter in the skillet and then the milk. Keeps it nice and smooth.

So easy made a few tweaks as in half stick more butter, and a bit of vanilla extract excellent sheen to glaze of the sauce and nice chocolate ness about it
Christmas morning tradition. Yummy. My family loves it.
I followed the suggestions of upping the butter and lowering the sugar, and was very happy with the results. Made a double batch for a family breakfast (worked out well) and made several folks very happy! I had planned to add vanilla but forgot, and I’m the only one who missed it. I think mine was actually tastier than my mother-in-laws version.
I made this for a crowd from age 16 to 63 years old. I made it exactly like the recipe. Everyone loved it on fresh hot biscuits. I will make it again
Made this for my grandkids. They loved it. So easy too.
This gravy is just as yummy as my Granny made when I was a kid! I didn’t change a thing and it was perfect!
Delicious! This recipe is perfect as is. For anyone “increasing” the butter to 5 tablespoons as suggested in one of the reviews, the recipe calls for 1/2 cup (not 1/2 stick) which is 8 tablespoons so you’d actually be decreasing the butter ;). Stick to the recipe, you won’t be disappointed!
