I make this recipe every couple of weeks, or when we finish the container in the refrigerator. I, too, use a bag of cole slaw and add the chopped veggies as stated in the recipe. The tang of the dressing as a marinade makes it our favorite!!! Perfect for warm weather due to no mayo! Love the ribs from this episode also!
Fabulous! But I followed the first reviewer’s proportions for the marinade. A big hit!!
Great taste! However I adjusted the sugar to 1/2 C,white vinegar to 1/3 C, canola oil to 1/3 C & salt to 3/4 teaspoon.
This has become a staple at our house -I make it every week. (My husband LOVES cole slaw.) I vary it slightly – I use two packages of angel hair coleslaw/cabbage mix and also reduce sugar (to 1/2 cup) and oil (to 1/3 cup)to reduce calories. Also use white vinegar since it makes the final product look more visually appealing. Also add celery seed and use red pepper. This is an easy recipe and very good!
I LOVE marinated coleslaw, and this recipe is quick and easy! Instead of grating the cabbage myself, I just use two or three bags of the mix from the store… there is plenty of marinade for it!
This slaw is GREAT. I have freinds that ask me to bring it to parties/bbqs ect. Also not being mayo based it stands up better in the heat at a back-yard party.
Needed some coleslaw for my first cookout of the spring…this was a cheap and easy recipe that was delicious. I didn’t have any cider vinegar and just used a mix of what I had on hand: white vinegar and rice wine vinegar. I also used less sugar as others have previously suggested. I chopped up my own cabbage. Will use again and again.
So simple! Make it even simpler by using store-bought slaw mix and you cna have this ready in no time. I like doctoring it up for specific tastes, too as some other reviews have mentioned.
Taste’s great with half Splenda and half sugar. I use the green cabbage and onion version. Family members LOVE IT that way.
didn’t take a lot of effort – I decreased the sugar a little too
