These were fun to make. For some reason some of the waffles turned out crispiero than others and, of course, everyone wanted the crispy ones. It also made a ton of waffles. Wound up freezing some. Make sure to not put too much batter in the iron. Can make a real mess. Mine took about 4 minutes per waffle on high.

Get a quick chocolate fix! I used a devil’s food cake mix (follow directions) + 1 extra egg (4 in all) + 3/4 C Hershey’s Chocolate Syrup then baked for approx. 2-3 min. USE COOKING SPRAY LIBERALLY. I cooked 1/2 that batter and then added 1 tsp Cyan Pepper + 1 tsp Cinnamon for me to eat as my husband doesn’t like spicy foods. It’s delicious and I’d do it again.

They tasted pretty decent, but if not eaten immediately,  they dried out.

Yup – these are yummy! More like dessert than breakfast. We enjoyed with whipped cream and sliced strawberries.

I made these for my brothers birthday, and they were a big hit! I put powdered sugar on top, drizzled on chocolate syrup, and chopped up strawberries to garnish it with. The only thing I recommend is add a generous amount of non stick spray to your iron. I would also recommend is pouring a good amount of batter into the iron, this way its easy to get out. This was quick, easy, and yummy, good job food network!

Tried this recipe the night this episode aired, the waffle didn’t stay together at all. we had to pick put the pieces and eat our Brownie Waffles that way. Even adding a little more mix thinking maybe that would help it hold together didn’t work. Nice way to have Brownies quickly but not worth the time consuming method of getting the Brownies out and the clean up after.
