Good lord, but they were simple and excellent! I did add slices of red onion to the rolls as pictured, and lettuce, mayo, and a slice of pre-cooked and heated bacon. I Always keep lemon juice handy, but realized too late that I had none. So, Added about a tablespoon of prepared horseradish sauce to the main mix. These were absolutely wonderful. Easy, quick, delicious. Served with some coleslaw.
I forgot to grab mayonaise at the store; I think these would have tasted much better with the sauce. They were not dry, though. In fact, the mix was extremely wet! I could have just added more bread crumbs. And If I ever tried this again I really think that’s all it would take. The taste wasn’t overly impressive, either. The overarching flavor is just salmon. Probably won’t bother to try to fix as there are better recipes out there. Not inedible by far but not blown away.
Could taste neither the lemon nor basil, and we didn’t care for this as a sandwich (personal preference). I had leftover salmon, and that will be served as salmon patties, not burgers. I mixed up the salmon and refrigerated overnight, so there was plenty of time for the seasonings to marry, but flavor was a little weak. Salmon patties are something that I always throw together without a recipe often for an easy Friday night dinner, and I did miss celery and bell peppers to give it a little crunch. Added salt and pepper, otherwise, made exactly as written. This was an “OK” recipe, just didn’t find anything special about it.
Used fresh cooked salmon instead of canned. Otherwise followed as written. Might use a little more breadcrumbs next time. Easy to make and tasted good.
So easy and quick to make. Very delicious salmon burger was moist but still held together. I made no changes to the recipe.
It was pretty good, since I was given a case of can salmon, I needed recipes. Great source of protein. I didn’t eat it on a bun, not a bread/bun person, just the burger and sauce. Will be making it weekly.
Regretfully, I couldn’t follow the recipe exactly, because I simply didn’t have all the ingredients, but it turned out wonderfully. I started out with a 14 1/2 ounce can of salmon. I used 2 eggs, fresh from our hens, half as much dried parsley flakes, 1/2 tsp. of oregano, 1 tbsp. dried, chopped onion, a pinch of red pepper flakes, 2 tbsp Real Lemon brand lemon juice, and 1/4 C. garlic & herb bread crumbs. I then cooked as directed, using olive oil. Following the recipe with all fresh ingredients would probably be even tastier. This recipe is a keeper!
Very nice flavor, texture, and easy prep. Dressing is perfect. Will make it again.
Not to with faint praise but it was…fine. It didn’t taste like much besides Italian breadcrumbs, but it wasn’t inedible. It definitely needs a stronger sauce to give it some flavor. If I added a slice of cheese and some chipotle sauce I could pretend it was just a very bland hamburger patty. The texture wasn’t terrible. It was edible but also not something I would make again.
So good! Very very yummy
This recipe made a nice-tasting salmon burger. The next time I make this recipe, I will add finely diced celery or bell pepper to add a bit of crunch and texture. After preparing the mixture, I formed the patties and put them on a plate covered with plastic wrap and kept them in the refrigerator over night. That helped to combine the flavors and firmed the patties to allow them to stay together better while cooking.
I love this recipe! Better presentation then Kroger’s Salmon Burgers in their Meat Market. Will make again. My fiance’ loves the taste. The Lemon-Basil-Dill Weed Mayonnaise was delicious.
Delicious and quick lunch!
It was a big hit, but i used leftover baked salmon and not canned.
Super delicious although I modified it to what was available! Couldn’t find parsley so used cilantro from our garden instead. Couldn’t find bread crumbs so I used Japanese pannko bread crumbs and seasoned them with coriander, garlic and basil. Also added japaleños to the burgers along with tomato, spinach and cheddar cheese for flavor and a nice kick (for the trimmings) . Instant favorite at our home!
So good. highly recommend.
I did not use seasoned bread crumbs it was still very good . i did add some extra spices, like a pinch of oregano , basil and garlic . only a little bit i did not want to over power it with spices
Definitely a keeper. I made them I. The morning and kept them in the fridge. Sprayed the pan with oil and in less than 15 minutes and delish burgers. And the lemon mayo was yummy also.
We enjoyed it. Although it’s not our favorite salmon patty recipe, it’s a nice break from the norm.
