I notice that everyone who gave this 4 or 5 stars, and as shown in most of the photos, added bacon. There is no bacon in the recipe. I have never tasted vinegar in store bought or restaurant blue cheese but you sure can taste it in this recipe. Will stick with Litehouse brand.
If you leave out the sugar, vinegar, and oil and use only enough milk to thin it out to desired consistency. You’ll have a good dressing. Add the blue cheese at the end for a nice chunky dressing.
Great base recipe – we left out the sugar, buttermilk and tomato. Perfect accompaniment for our surf and turf dinner!
Really liked it! Surprisingly easy and very refreshing. I didn’t have any buttermilk, but I added vinegar and milk…it did the trick. I didn’t chill overnight, but my cold ingredients did more than fine!
I’m not a blue cheese type of person but wanted to expand my horizons… I made the mistake of making half of the recipe!. It’s delicious
I’ve made it twice so far. My whole family loves it. So good!
It was a complete waste of the ingredients. Inedible is being kind. Sorry, but that’s what the whole family said.
This is a great recipe. I cut both sugar and blue cheese by about a third. Will cut sugar more and probably try to use the same amount of better quality blue cheese next time. This is a real keeper and would be great as a creamy garlic without the blue cheese.
Love it! very easy dinner meal just add grilled chicken …kids are not fan of blue cheese so did ranch and feta on theirs …everyone enjoyed it!
Simple to make and adds a touch of elegance to your meal
I used 5 oz. of blue cheese which was perfect. Next time I make the dressing I’ll leave out the sugar. It was a little too sweet for me. Added crumbled bacon on top to make this salad fabulous.
Followed the directions completely and it was fabulous! Had it with our Christmas prime rib and it was a hit! The guests had never had bleu cheese dressing and are now big fans!
I’ve made this several times and both myself and my wife love it!
Excellent recipe! I’ve been making it for years!. 1/2 cup of blue cheese is plenty or I usually do half of a 4 0z. container. Always adjust for personal taste. You Must let the flavors marry for at least a few hours. I use this as a salad dressing as well as a chicken wing dip.
Everyone said it was 5 star steakhouse restaurant worthy.
love this dressing. just keep the vinegar down and make sure you get good blue cheese, I use Costco’s Gorgonzola
I loved this recipe, there can never be too much blue cheese in my world.
A delicious version to the usual ‘wedge salad’ …. my family loved it!
Dressing is Wonderfully tasteful and so easy to make.
My son-in-law’s favorite salad, and I didn’t even know it! He even topped my overdone ribeye with some of the dressing and said it was fine, too. I did add freshly fried bacon bits and my daughter used the drippings to cook delicious Brussels sprouts! A fabulous dinner!
Excellent and simple yet a very eye catching and retro dish. The fresh made Blue Cheese dressing sets it over the edge. I added only a hint of Worcestershire Sauce similar to a 1925 salad.
