This is the recipe we’ve chosen after making Waldorf salad for 60 years. You won’t even have the smallest idea that it’s beneficial for you, let alone the grandchildren. You’ll just be able to taste it.

Ingredients

  1. 8 apples, peeled and cut into bite-size pieces
  2. 1 ½ lemons, juiced
  3. 2 cups chopped pecans
  4. 1 cup mayonnaise (such as Hellman’s®), or more to taste
  5. 1 cup raisins
  6. 1 teaspoon dried orange zest
  7. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  8. ½ teaspoon celery seed
  9. ¼ teaspoon salt
  10. 1 pinch stevia powder, or to taste

Instructions

  1. Place apples in a large bowl and sprinkle lemon juice over the top; toss to coat. Stir pecans, mayonnaise, raisins, orange zest, vanilla extract, celery seed, salt, and stevia into apples until well-combined. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate until chilled, about 30 minutes.
  2. Instead of all mayo, you can mix half mayo and half yogurt, but Hellman’s(R) mayo holds up much better than anything else.
