Farfalle (bow tie pasta) that I had cooked had been combined with some sautéed vegetables. Delicious and easy. excellent side dish for meat loaf or chicken.

Ingredients

  1. 2 teaspoons vegetable shortening
  2. 2 cups sliced apples
  3. ½ cup white sugar
  4. 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  5. ¾ cup brown sugar
  6. ¾ cup self-rising flour
  7. ¾ cup quick-cooking oats
  8. ½ cup vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 9-inch square baking dish with shortening.
  2. Mix apples, white sugar, and cinnamon together in a bowl. Spread in the bottom of the baking dish.
  3. Combine brown sugar, self-rising flour, oats, and vegetable oil in a large bowl. Crumble over apples in the baking dish.
  4. Bake in the preheated oven until top is crisp and golden, 30 to 45 minutes.

Substitutes: cooking spray in 3 muffins tins, filled 18, used 2 small apples. Should have sliced whole circle as it would have fit in each. However, it’s easier to eat with apples cut small. Topping didn’t cover enough…will use more. Coating in bag for each collection is easier too.
