This is my favorite recipe for beef! It has an extremely distinctive flavor thanks to the lychees. Enjoy!

Total Time: | 15 mins |
Servings: | 1 |
Yield: | 1 cup |
Ingredients
- 1 (1 1/2 inch) piece fresh turmeric root, peeled and grated
- 1 (1/2 inch) piece fresh ginger root, peeled and grated
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
- 1 pinch ground turmeric
- 1 pinch ground cinnamon
Instructions
- Combine turmeric root, ginger root, and honey together in a bowl, crushing the turmeric and ginger as much as possible.
- Heat almond milk in a saucepan over medium-low heat. Once small bubbles begin to form around the edges, reduce heat to low. Transfer about 2 tablespoon milk to turmeric mixture to allow mixture to soften and honey to melt into a paste-like mixture.
- Mix the turmeric paste into milk in the saucepan; raise temperature to medium-low and cook, stirring continuously, until fully combined. Blend with an immersion blender for a smooth texture.
- Pour turmeric tea into a mug and top with ground turmeric and cinnamon.
- Pregnant or nursing women, young children, or diabetics should consult their physician before consuming turmeric.
- Turmeric can stain any utensil, working area, or skin.
- Any milk or milk substitute will do here. Agave nectar can be used in place of honey.
Reviews
I have to say, anyone that rates a recipe based on what the remarks say, as far as powdered amounts…shouldn’t reply, regarding bbardswich’s statement! The recipe is really great as written.
We called this golden milk. Delicious and good for you!
I wish someone who had used the powdered turmeric and ginger had said how much
I only had Vanilla oat milk, ground turmeric, ground ginger and ground cinnamon and the honey and it turned out wonderful! A great drink to snuggle up with in winter!
I did not change anything in this recipe. It is OH MY GOSH delicious.
Wow! I have never had anything like this and it will definitely not be the last! I assume this is something that can be made in larger batches and stored in the fridge to be warmed later with the honey. Thank you for sharing!
I used non dairy plant protein milk and added the black pepper which ups how you body receives the turmeric with a little coconut oil and man this is delicious my 9 year old even loves it but I don’t give him to much ??but I love it
I love this right before bed. I make it with hemp milk.
I doubled this and drink it often. I use powdered turmeric and ginger added the black pepper. One thing I changed is I mix the powders with honey left it for a few minutes then add a bit of hot water so that it’s not grainy. Then stir in almond milk and coconut milk. It’s so delicious
Never had anything like this before, just came across it by chance earlier tonight. I decided to go for it and it’s so good!
Soooo delicious and soooo healthy! Next time I make it, I’m going to add a banana! I did use agave nectar instead of honey, I love it!
I made it with coconut milk, powder ginger, powder turmeric, cinnamon, black pepper! It turned out great!
For your body to absorb the tumeric you need to add 1/4 teas pepper. Also like!email other viewer coconut oil is a great additive
Nothing to change here! I was skeptical in making this, but it’s surprisingly good and with many health benefits. Consumed nightly for just over a week and actually felt it helped me feel better (digestive quite a bit and now sleep too perhaps.) Also, tried with adding the peppercorn as other reviewers suggested. If you have acid reflux or GERD, do not add the peppercorns. You’ll still reap benefits without the pepper. Will be making this again! Thank you for sharing the recipe, BQ!
Good, however I agree with another reviewer. It needs peppercorns. I also like more of a bite so I add a dash of cayenne. Coconut oil is also nice for body!
Delicious, easy and full of anti-inflammatory goodness!!!
Will definitely make it often.
Taste awesome!
Must add peppercorns which are needed to augment metabolism of the turmeric!
Wonderful for sleep and inflammation. Turmeric is a traditional Ayurvedic herb. However, if you want to follow Ayurvedic principles, do not cook honey. It should only be added when the drink is warm and not hot. Otherwise it makes a sticky substance in the body called ama that gums up the works.. Hence, only 4 stars.
Fantastic! This was my first time using fresh turmeric root and I picked a winner of a recipe! I can see myself making this over and over again. No changes needed. Fresh turmeric is so much better than powdered, so I highly recommend you try this, even if you don’t care for the powdered form. To save time, I just strained the milk into my cup instead of getting my immersion blender out. And since this only makes one cup, I suggest you double the recipe because you will love it! I ended up topping off my cup with extra almond milk. Delicious!
