Turkey Cheeseburger Meatloaf

  4.5 – 171 reviews  • Turkey Meatloaf Recipes

This cheese and meat dip is delicious. When it’s finished, I put it in a slow cooker to keep it warm. Add tortilla chips to the dish.

Prep Time: 20 mins
Cook Time: 55 mins
Total Time: 1 hr 15 mins
Servings: 4

Ingredients

  1. 1 teaspoon vegetable oil
  2. 7 slices turkey bacon, or more to taste
  3. 1 pound extra-lean ground turkey
  4. 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
  5. 1 egg
  6. ½ small onion, diced
  7. 1 slice French bread, crumbled
  8. 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce, or more to taste
  9. 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  10. ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
  11. ¼ cup ketchup
  12. 2 tablespoons prepared yellow mustard
  13. 1 ½ tablespoons brown sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add turkey bacon and cook until browned and crisp, about 5 minutes per side. Drain on paper towels and crumble when cool enough to handle.
  3. Mix ground turkey, Cheddar, egg, onion, crumbled French bread, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, pepper, and bacon together until well combined. Shape into a loaf in the middle of a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  4. Stir ketchup, mustard, and brown sugar together in a bowl until brown sugar is dissolved; spread over turkey loaf.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven until no longer pink in the middle and the juices run clear, 45 to 60 minutes. An instant-read meat thermometer inserted into the thickest part of the loaf should read at least 165 degrees F (74 degrees C).

Make extra! Excellent as a hpt meatloaf recipe but this is delicious cold and sliced for meatloaf sandwiches. I used buttery snack crackers in place of the French bread. i also added some blanched shredded carrot to keep it moist. The sauce/topping is a great savory addition.

My family loved it! But it needed more sauce, so next time I’m going to double the sauce. layer it 1/2 way in the meat and then to the other half ontop. But how do I modify for the extra?

Fabulous! Moist & flavorful. We loved it! Used stoneground mustard in the topping because that’s what I had on hand, and added 1/2 t. Worcestershire sauce to the topping.

Did not like this recipe at all. Will not make again. Very bland.

This was delish! I put it in muffin tins and baked for 20 minutes and added crispy onions to the top.

Excellent recipe. Strongly suggest you double up on everything if you have more than 3 people, or have some big appetites. My daughter doesn’t like meatloaf, and she liked this a lot.

OH so good

I would either make more sauce or reserve some to use when serving on the side.

Family loves it. The brown sugar, ketchup and mustard topping gives a great flavor. I will modify is with mozzarella cheese and add spinach.

Used soya sauce instead of worsted and 4 slices regular instead of the turkey bacon

So this is a wonderful recipe but I made a few changes.First,I didnt see the need for french bread so like another reviewer I used plain panko bread crumbs instead. Also used sharp cheddar cheese in it and added a couple pinches of A1 sauce.Instead of plain old ketchup I decided to spice it up a bit and use Heinz jalapeno ketchup and instead of plain old mustard used Hickory farms sweet hot mustard.I also made a whole package of bacon and put the leftover slices across the top, they melted into the sauce perfectly( not literally)Gave it an amazing kick!! not too much just enough.I thought it was amazing, and there wasn’t a bite left!

First bite: “this is boring”. Sorry. I’m not really a meatloaf person, but wanted to try something different to change things up a bit for dinner. This recipe seemed benign, and well, it was. I don’t know what would make this taste better or interesting. But like I said, I’m not a meatloaf person, so there you are.

I used crushed potato chips instead of bread crumbs to make it gluten free. I loved the mustard, but my kids prefer it topped with barbecue sauce. It was a winner!

Love this recipe! One of my husbands favorite. I sauté the onions for a little more flavor. I also skip the breadcrumbs to make it healthier. Worth the time it takes to cook!

This recipe is great. I have made it multiple times.

I added 1/4 cup of Sriracha Ketchup to the meatloaf mixture for moistness, as well as a dash of Adobo and 1/2 tsp Tony Chachere’s Creole seasoning to enhance the flavor …also opted to use equal parts ketchup and sweet mustard with brown sugar for the glaze…no extra brown sugar was needed…It was wonderful

I’m not the greatest cook and it was foolproof for me! I didn’t have all the ingredients. And I needed to double the recipe bc I had 2 lbs of meat, not one. I didn’t double the worcestershire (sodium) and I didn’t have enough ketchup to double the glaze. I added bread crumbs – probably 3/4 c. I added 2 eggs. Sauteed the onions first. and maybe 1 1/2 c. cheese. The rest of the ingredients I followed as per recipe amounts. I glazed the loaf before I laid the bacon on top (instead of frying and adding to meat) bc I had to save time (I take too long to cook!) Kids loved it better than my regular beef/pork meatloaf! Thank you!

Really delicious! I made it for me and my roommate last night. She loved it enough to have a second piece! Next time I will definitely cut down on the amount of onion or increase the amount of ground turkey. A little bit too much onion IMO. But amazing and awesome otherwise! 😀

I’m sorry to say this was a bomb in our family. The meatloaf turned out nice and firm, which was a plus. But the turkey bacon and cheese combination really put us off. My kids turned up their noses at the sauce mixture, so we used our favorite BBQ sauce instead. (We generally use that for our beef meatloaf.) We’ll likely use the base recipe and play around with it.
