I enjoy cooking, and I frequently test out new dishes on my family. This was a delicious and simple new meal idea! My family cherished it. Provide lettuce, tomatoes, and other toppings on buns.

My first time with ground turkey so that may be the issue. I have used onion soup in some recipes for years and like it. I made a sample bite to see what other seasonings might be needed. I spit the bite out. Disgusting!!! I added BBQ sauce to some of the rest of the meat to make it more edible. I still hated it. One of 6 of us who tried it liked it. I chose to just skip dinner.
My 12 year-old prepared these, skipping the water. I suggested she add some garlic powder and plain breadcrumbs, which held these beauties together perfectly. Sprayed the patties with canola oil before placing on the grill and grilled 5 minutes on the first side at medium low heat. Flipped and grilled 4 minutes more before adding Havarti cheese slices (swiss for me) all while my daughter sauteed mushrooms to add to these burgers. Served on toasted buns with a mountain of grilled onions and mushrooms, this was a fantastic weekday dinner! Loved the addition of the onion soup packet, which negated the need for any salt. Delicious and a hit in my house, these will be made again.
I made it, the soup is adds flavor but I had to add bread crumbs due to the 1/2 cup of water. I would not add water if I make these again, just an egg and bread crumbs.
Didn’t have dry soup mix so used Faye Watkin’s Dry onion soup mix from All Recipe instead. Subbed 1 tsp of Better Than Bouillon beef flavor for the beef bouillon to reduce the salt. Threw in a dash of smoked flavoring and my husband LOVED these. Also added 1 tablespoon olive oil as another review suggested. Be sure to refrigerate for 10 minutes, as suggested in the recipe, to firm it up! I used two pounds of ground turkey and it was seasoned just right for us.
Burgers were very good! I mixed them as directed and cooked them in the broiler. 15 minutes on one side for a thick burger, then flip for 10 more minutes. Check middle for doneness. I used mushroom-onion soup mix. Very good burgers with a salad.
This recipe is simple and really delicious. At first, I was worried because the turkey mixture lacked the kind of firmness that typical chopped meat has when you’re shaping a hamburger, but it cooked (in my oven’s broiler) just perfectly, 7 min on each side. Definitely a keeper!
I am curious that these recipes don’t indicate if the calories is for just the patty even though I am sure it is. The pictures I’m guessing is for a suggested way to eat it.
Really great after a few modifications. Omitted the water and added parsley and breadcrumbs
I added matzo meal. I felt like the mixture was to soupy .
Made these several times. The first time I used just regular ground turkey and they were a mushy mess. Recipe should really say a pound of ground (white) turkey. It’s a heartier consistency and they hold up well with the water (I use a little less than the half cup). We love them so much. Hope this helps for anyone else.
It was fantastic! I can’t wait to make them again!
I made this exactly as the recipe said to make it. I felt the onion soup mix was a little strong. I’m going to try it again using Ranch, and see if that’s a lighter flavoring that doesn’t overpower the turkey meat.
Really salty with the onion mix. Go lighter on it. Good starter though.
It was the best burgers I ever tasted.
Really good. Never knew to add water, but a great idea to keep it from drying out. Made it too runny to make on the grill for me, but it cooked really well in a pan.
Added a bit of hot sauce, sliced avocado on the top when donel
I was in a rush and needed a quick turkey burger , so, I thought I would give this a try. I should’ve gone with my instinct and not used a full 1/2 cup of water because it was mushy and I couldn’t get it to hold together. I added a little panko to the mixture to soak up some of the liquid. After it was cooked it was moist and tender, , but, I wasn’t crazy about the flavor.
I followed the recipe exactly. The burgers were delicious! I will make these again.
The water made the mixture too sloppy and I ended up adding A LOT of bread crumbs to attempt to salvage these burgers. Never making this again!
Made this last night and hubby and I both loved it added a couple of slices of bacon some soy sauce and mushrooms when I was mincing the turkey and served with cheese, onion rings and cranberry sauce (instead of relish). Yum will definitely make again.
Loved the flavor but I lost half of my burgers through the grill grate! I’ve never had any luck making turkey burgers so it may just be me.
