Ingredients
- Lime wedges
- Coarse salt
- 1/4 cup fresh lime juice, about 1 large lime
- 1/4 cup silver 100 percent agave tequila
- 1/4 cup orange liqueur
- 1/2 cup coarsely cracked ice cubes
Instructions
- Rub the rims of 2 martini glasses with a lime wedge, then dip the rims in a dish of course salt. Refrigerate the glasses if desired.
- In a shaker, combine the lime juice, tequila, and orange liqueur. Add ice and shake 10 to 15 seconds, then strain into the prepared glasses.

Yup. I agree with all the positive comments. A true margarita. I did add a wee bit of agave nectar.
This combination of ingredients simply doesn’t work with our tastebuds like Rick’s Topolo Margarita does.
I have been making margaritas this way since I was 12, what’s new? But Rick you forgot one very important ingredient, a splash of Domiana. Learned this one from an old lady in LaPaz.
This is a great margarita. It is reminiscent of the ones you get that come in a shaker and you can only have 2 max.
Will never use a bottled mix again for margarita’s again. Recipe is fresh and refreshing at the same time!
