This is exactly how my mother made it. I think a little lemon juice isnt a bad addition. This was a must have on our table, and on the tables of many other southern farm folk who grew their own food and dressed it with love.

Made half as I wanted it for our burgers. Amazingly delicious! Carolina

This tasted fine, but it did seem a bit off from what Thousand Island should taste like. I’ll have to read more reviews to find out what to change or add. It was good on my salad though.

Worked perfectly on homemade Reubens. Let it meld!

It’s okay but I’ve found half sweet and half dill relish, a tsp of lemon juice, a tsp of Worcestershire sauce, and paprika to taste makes it taste more like the commercial dressing. I don’t add salt or pepper. I do add horseradish to taste to mine to give it a bit of depth and zing!

I’ve been making this for years and agree this a great recipe. It is important to use dill relish rather than sweet (the ketchup adds enough sweetness) and I add a cap full of lemon juice, a pinch of cayenne, and a pinch of dry mustard. A must on crab Louie!

Love this recipe! Simple, easy to make and also easy to scale from the ratios as it’s just me who eats it. Haven’t messed with the recipe yet but would be easy to personalize.

Great recipe. Been making it now a great deal these past two months. Today, I added a pinch (a pinch) of cayenne pepper for a little extra taste test. Very good. The recipe is highly recommended to be made and enjoyed.

I’m not sure if it was the pickle relish or what but this tastes nothing like thousand island let alone a GOOD thousand island. I’m absolutely baffled at the ratings.

Excellent salad dressing or sandwich spread. So easy to make. Stays fresh tasting for several weeks.

Excellent results. Exactly what I was looking for in a Thousand Island dressing.

This is a staple recipe. Quick and easy. You don’t need to measure it. Just eyeball everything in the correct ratios and then tweak to suit your taste. Feeling fancy… throw in chipotle seasoning, Sriracha or any other flavor boost to take it to the next level. Perfect for sandwiches, burgers, and also a delish French fry dip.

Turned out very good. No reason to buy the bottled stuff again. I usually ended up throwing half the bottle away. I don’t use it that often, that’s why the recipe was perfect for me. Will be making this again, thanks.

The dressing came out great. I put on my burger just like McDonald’s.

I cut the recipe in half and added 1 tsp Worcestershire and 1/2 tsp mustard powder. Absolutely delicious on leftover slices of corned beef and swiss. Also perfect for dipping chicken tenders!

I did add a scant tsp of lemon juice. I made this for a dinner guest and he really liked it. My blue cheese-loving husband tried it the next day & he told me not to lose that recipe!

Let it marry together for at least an hour for the flavor to set right. Perfect after that.

I love this stuff. I didn’t change anything but it certainly is very versatile. I may try Sriracha Ketchup next time for a little kick.
