With beautifully crisp results, this thin-crust pizza dough recipe may be prepared and baked in just 15 minutes.

Prep Time: 10 mins
Additional Time: 5 mins
Total Time: 15 mins
Servings: 4
Yield: 1 12-inch crust

Ingredients

  1. 1 teaspoon active dry yeast
  2. ¼ teaspoon white sugar
  3. ¾ cup lukewarm water
  4. 2 cups all-purpose flour, divided
  5. ½ teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Dissolve yeast and sugar in warm water that’s 110 degrees F (44 degrees C) in a small bowl. Let stand until yeast softens and begins to form a creamy foam, about 5 to 8 minutes.
  2. Combine 1 3/4 cups flour and salt in a large bowl. Pour in yeast mixture; mix well until dough comes together.
  3. Transfer dough to a floured surface and knead until smooth, about 2 minutes. Add remaining 1/4 cup flour if dough is too sticky.
  4. Roll dough into a 12-inch circle. Transfer to a greased pizza pan.
  5. Top crust as desired and bake at 500 degrees F (260 degrees C) until golden, 8 to 10 minutes.

I’ve been looking for a more European style thin crust and just LOVE this base recipe. I add a bit of garlic powder to the dry ingredients and tweak it each time to create great flavor!

I made two batches, One for now and a refrigerated one for later. I used a larger pizza pan and let it rest before adding toppings. My pizza pan also has holes in it. I liked the texture and taste. I’ll make it again.

My 1st time making any kind of dough & it turned out amazing, better than digiornos

Very good recipe. I make it all the time. Although, I added a half tablespoon or so to the recipe. Gives it a little more j by let. Big hit in my house. I use a preheated pizza stone in my grill on high heat, 550-600 degrees for about ten minutes. Can also use type 00 flour if you want it even crisper. Great base to start from.

It didn’t turn out at all. Tasted terrible and the texture was bad. I followed the recipe exactly. I must have done something wrong

Simple, quick, and absolute desired results. 11 out of 10 stars! Cooking time in convection oven was 12-14 minutes for crispy golden brown crusts@500. Variation: I added 1tsp olive oil to recipe and let rest for 10 minutes before rolling out to relax any gluten.

Delicious thin crust pizza! Just what we’ve been looking for! Only thing I added to recipe was a little more sugar , so used 1/2tsp total and it was brown sugar. I love using brown sugar or honey in my doughs. I didn’t do round pan I’m a bit of a minimalist who likes multipurpose items so I used a 13×18 sheet pan. Made 2 pizzas using 2 seperate batches. Baked at recommended temp for recommended time. Did have to increase time. On 2nd pizza I baked it about 10mins then slid it off pan and baked for additional 5 to brown the bottom. Will definately use this recipe again. I’ve included pictures. The 1 with pepperoni I messed up rolling out dough so it ended up with air bubbles. Still delicious! Thank you for this recipe!

It was ok, but I think if you add about a tablespoon of oil to the recipe, it would come out crispier. I am going to try this.

Baked ours at 450 degrees which took a little longer (10-12 minutes). My learning disabled son had a blast making this! Looks awesome fresh out of the oven and tasted great also. Goodbye Dominos!

Absolutely fantastic. Better than bought

Love it! Crispy and taste great. I didn’t add any salt cos the topping had it (red pesto). Saving this recipe for the next time

Easy and fast! We kneaded in the bowl and let dough ball rest 10-20 minutes covered before rolling it out. Parbake 90 seconds on stone, pull off and add toppings, then bake another 5-7 minutes. Crispy and chewy!

We added oregano to the dough, and molasses. It was very easy to work, and makes a delicious pie. Used a cast iron skillet for baking.

Great basic recipe! Tastes great as is, but it’s also a great base to add flavor: bit of honey or sugar, herbs or spices. A slather of butter across the cooked edge. I love this because there’s no rise/waiting time. Makes for a fast dinner. I make big batches and freeze it. Defrost in fridge, then use whenever!
