  4.0 – 5 reviews  • Pork Shoulder Recipes

A favorite among the family and they don’t even need to be made for Christmas!

Prep Time: 5 mins
Cook Time: 35 mins
Total Time: 40 mins
Servings: 3
Yield: 3 pork steaks

Ingredients

  1. ¾ cup Italian bread crumbs
  2. ½ cup all-purpose flour
  3. 2 eggs, beaten
  4. ¼ cup vegetable oil
  5. 3 thick-cut pork steaks

Instructions

  1. Mix bread crumbs and flour together in a resealable plastic bag. Place eggs in another bag.
  2. Place pork steaks in the bag with egg mixture and toss. Transfer 1 steak into the bag with the bread crumbs mixture and toss to coat.
  3. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add coated steak to the hot oil. Coat the next steak with the bread crumbs and add to the skillet. Fry until browned on both sides, about 8 minutes per side. An instant-read thermometer inserted into the center should read at least 145 degrees F (63 degrees C). Repeat with the remaining pork steak.

This recipe is okay but without seasoning the chops before breading it was mighty bland. I suggest onion powder, garlic powder and black pepper at the very least. Also, Morton’s Natures Own seasoning is excellent on almost every kind of meat. You can also use Cajun or Greek spices. Emerills is also fantastic. Add cayenne pepper for a little extra zip!

This recipe is a good basic Breaded Pork Steak recipe, but the meat is very bland. Here are a few suggestions. Before breading the pork steaks: 1. Use Emeril’s Seasoning on the pork, then bread. 2. Use a steak and chop seasoning on the pork steaks, then bread. 3. Season Pork steaks with garlic and onion powder and black pepper, then bread. You can also add the seasoing to the bread crumbs, but this will require more seasoning.

This was so easy and so yummy, and didn’t break the bank. Simple recipes are my go to after a long day atwork. This will be added to our monthly rotation.

Tried this out tonight. It could have used a bit more salt, although that could be the Italian breadcrumb brand I had. This was fast and easy. 8 minutes per side was perfect!

I never thought to bread pork steaks as we always just fried, baked or barbecued but these were absolutely delicious. 8 minutes per side is right on point. Served with mashed potatoes and gravy. Yum!!
