This recipe is a combination of a few others that I really liked. Even though it’s smaller than cooking a whole turkey, it’s still delightful. Drippings create excellent gravy!

Ingredients
- 3 eggs, beaten
- 1 cup raisins
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup white sugar
- 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 2 cups rolled oats
- ¾ cup chopped pecans
Instructions
- In a small bowl, combine the eggs, raisins, and vanilla. Cover and chill for 1 hour.
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
- In a medium bowl, cream together the butter, brown sugar, and white sugar. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, salt, cinnamon and baking soda; add to the creamed mixture and stir until all of the dry ingredients are absorbed. Next, stir in the egg and raisin mixture, then stir in the rolled oats and pecans. Dough will be stiff. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto an unprepared cookie sheet.
- Bake for 10 to 12 minutes in the preheated oven, until the edges are golden. Allow cookies to cool 5 minutes on the baking sheet before removing to a wire rack to cool completely.

Delicious oatmeal cookies!!!! I did not add the raisins instead I added 1 cup white chocolate chips they were excellent!!!!
These cookies are great. Very chewy and still light. I left out the pecans and added about a half teaspoon of ground cloves. What seemed different than other recipes was soaking the raisins in the egg mixture and refrigerating for an hour. I don’t know how that affected the cookie other than plumping the raisins. We couldn’t stop eating them!
I’m not a baker and this was my first attempt at oatmeal cookies. Recipe was so easy and the flavor is great. I like raisins but I used dried cranberries instead. I’ll add just a few more next time. Recipe made 4 dozen for me. Now I have to give a few away. Will make again.
I loved this recipe and added 1 cup dried cranberries and a small pkg white choc chips!
These are the best!! To the people who say the recipe is too runny you didn’t follow the instructions. The only thing I did add, was to cover the mixture between batches as it dries out quickly.

I made these cookies and went exactly by the recipe. They were very good but the batter was very stiff.
Awesomely delicious. Husband says best I ever made. He doesn’t like nuts of any kind so I just added extra raisins. They came out perfect. II will use this recipe from now on. I must say that you have the best recipes of any I have tried.
I just made these cookies hoping to get something not too hard because my husband has a dental bridge for his front top teeth. Perfect! I used golden raisins because I think regular raisins ruin a perfectly good oatmeal cookie. I definitely agree that these are “The Best Oatmeal Cookies”! I might try 2C flour and 2 1/2C oats next time and more nuts and raisins can only be a good thing!

The recipe is perfect! I followed it to the letter… with flour and sugar modifications . My family eats gluten free and keto. I used a combination of flour (coconut/almond/spelt). Sugars (1/4 C chicory root/1/4 C regular sugar/the rest coconut sugar. Hubby is crazy about these cookies, as am I. The rest of the crew loves them as well. Will be saving this recipe! Thank you

I doubled the recipe the first time I made it and substituted wallnuts for the pecans, used 1/2 veg oil and the other 1/2 butter for the total butter (I was out of butter!), and I trippled the total cinnamon called for, and this recipe was terrific!! It has the crunchy edge and chewy middle that I wanted. this is my go-to from now on.

The dough was so stiff I thought for sure I did something wrong but they turned out absolutely amazing. A new favorite in our house.
I added 1/2 cup of mini milk chocolate chips to the recipe but I’m not sure it made much difference. My husband response it what matters to me. His comments were, “best you ever made. “They are so chewy, brown on top but chewy on the inside. Don’t change anything.” I believe soaking the raisins made a huge difference. LOVE this recipe! I bake & sell thousands of cookies every year, and I have NEVER found an Oatmeal cookie recipe I liked. This is the first one that I’ve made several times. My tweak. I didn’t soak the raisins in the egg mixture. I just assembled the recipe like I would any other cookie recipe…cream fats & sugars, add eggs & flavoring, then add dry ingredients. I think these would be good with mini CC too.
My husband adores oatmeal raisin cookies. And it’s been such a long time since I’ve made them… You can imagine how pleased and happy he was when I presented him with a few warm cookies fresh out of the oven! The only changes I made was to use half butter and half Lard. (Oh but it does delightful things to your baked goods!) Very happy with the way these turned out and will keep the recipe to use in the future~thank you for submitting!
