Flavor was okay. I prefer my bbq sauce a little thicker, and this recipe was on the liquidy side.

I love it even as thin as it is. I don’t care for thick bbq sauce and I love a vinegar based sauce. One of my favorites
I thought it was very good I did omit the chili powder(didnt have any but it was still tasty!!!!will make again.
It was good, but i did have to reduce it with a simmer till i got the desired thickness. Yum.
Good base for BBQ sauce. Definatly had to build on it a bit. I added mustard, brown sugar, lemon and lime juice, and some more spices. I let it reduce quite a bit to enhance flavors and get the thickness I wanted, didn’t want to add more ketchup, I was going for BBQ sauce not candy…lol next time I’ll try some red wine…yes mouth watering from the smell!!! And it TASTE so much better!
My wife found this recipe when she was making grilled bbq chicken and forgot to buy our favorite sauce at the store, Sweet Baby Ray. I was shocked at how good this turned out, I would actually say better then SBR’s. You know it’s good when you’re eating it off the spoon out of the pot b/c you already ate all the chicken.
easy to make with very good flavor. Very watery, extra ketsup in needed to thicken
This was my first attempt at trying to make my own BBQ sauce. I found it to be a pretty simple but tasty recipe.
I used red wine vinegar because I didn’t have any cider vinegar and I added a little bit of spicy brown mustard to the mix. All turned out well!
I did have to add quite a bit of ketchup to get it to my desired thickness.
