Yield: | 2 pounds chicken |
Ingredients
- ½ cup soy sauce
- ½ cup rice vinegar
- 3 tablespoons honey
- 2 teaspoons sesame oil
- 4 teaspoons fresh ginger, minced
- 4 teaspoons cornstarch
- 4 cloves garlic, minced

- 1 (8 ounce) package sliced mushrooms
Instructions
- Mix all the sauce ingredients in a medium size bowl until completely smooth.

Delicious!
As much as I love Rice Vinegar, I agree it was a tad too much. Otherwise flavor was good. I normally don’t follow a recipe but glad I did to discover a twist on my usual.
Tastes great with a few modifications. I recommend adding toasted sesame seeds per the main photo. I also added scallions for authenticity. A lot of the comments mentioned that the teriyaki is so-so. I added 4 tsp of brown sugar and it came out perfect.
WOW is all I can say for this recipe! I cooked this for my family and everyone absolutely loved it. I got a ton of compliments and greatly enjoyed it!
Love this healthier version of Teriyaki chicken. The ginger really does add to this dish.
it was good bit salty but a good easy make i did not use the mushrooms
I just wasn’t that I’m pressed. It wasn’t horrible, but it wasn’t fantastic either. I followed the recipe to a tee and can’t really complain about anything. Just not for me. Doubt I’ll make it again
It was ok, but we’ve made better just by putting a little of this & that together. Not much for flavor & certainly didn’t taste like a teriyaki sauce for us. Won’t be making again. It was easy to make & didn’t take much time.
I added alittle brown sugar as others suggested i thought it was pretty good.
I liked this recipe except for the vinegar. If I make it again I’ll cut the vinegar in half. Just a little too tart for my tastes.
Not sweet enough for teriyaki. I would add more sugar if I make it again.
Flavor burst! Easy to make and we loved it!
Great dinner. Added brown sugar to mixture to sweeten it up and decrease soy flavor slightly. Also used caned mushrooms. Delicious
Easy and tasty. I will cut back on the vinegar next time, perhaps add scallions.
I found the chicken to be a bit dry, but the sauce was terrific. I would definitely serve it with rice the next time.
I make stir try Every once in awhile but have never made chicken terriachy spel? Before. I have a good friend in rehab and love making him homemade suppers. So tonight this is what he had. He says he loved it. I thought it was very good. Thanks for your recipe. i will use it again. P.s. Didn’t change but one little thing. I like lemongrass so put in some of that.
