Tequila Sunrise Punch

Ingredients

  1. 1/2 cup silver or gold tequila
  2. 1 liter citrus-flavored club soda
  3. 2 limes, quartered
  4. 1 small unpeeled orange, cut into 1-inch chunks, plus 1 orange, sliced, for garnish
  5. 1/2 small unpeeled grapefruit, cut into 1-inch chunks
  6. Ice cubes

Instructions

  1. In a pitcher measure tequila, club soda, and cut fruit. Add enough ice to the pitcher so that the punch rises to the top. Pour into tall glasses and garnish with sliced orange.

Did not like this at all. Not sure what I did wrong with this very simple recipe. There was no sweetness and didn’t taste like anything. Fortunately I had OJ on hand and added that to salvage the drink. Would not recommended unless willingly to modify recipe significantly.

I made this wonderfully refreshing punch last evening for a group of colleagues. It was well received! I made it with a bottle of sparling lemonade instead of club soda. I added a splash of grenadine to the finished pitcher. The sun was setting and the horizon was so beautiful, I think the drink should be renamed for the sunset. The colors of the fruit, and the lemonade rivalled that glorius sunset! Oh, about the taste…..delicios!
