Got good reviews from my family. Only found this recipe a few weeks ago and have already made it twice!

Like a brownie in a pie crust.

Oh my goodness, this is the most chocolaty, decadent, and rich chocolate pie. If you are a chocoholic, you’ll want to make this.

This pie is awesome! I made it for our Thanksging lunch at work and it was a hit. Not very difficult and came out perfect. Making it again for my family’s Thanksgiving.

The recipe didn’t indicate whether the crust should be prebaked. I used a raw crust and think I’d prebake it next time so I could get a nice brown crust while leaving the filling a little under baked.

very good and very rich, especially with the shortbread crust I made for it, following the advice of another reviewer. The filling is good enough and simple enough. I omitted the nuts due to allergy problems, but it was smashing all the same.

I scaled this down to 6 servings and made it into 4 mini pie plates. I used a thawed frozen pie crust that I quartered and arranged each piece into the pie plates, nothing fancy as long as it was in there. After reading some of the reviews, I cut the coconut in half. I baked it about 20 min for the mini plates, and I would try less for these the next time. This is very rich; a little goes a long way. Can’t wait to try with ice cream or whipped cream. I’m going to wrap and freeze some for when I need a chocolate fix! It is a pie, but the crust could actually be eliminated. It would be like a brownie that way. Thanks – great recipe!

I made this just like the recipe instructed and cooked it for 40 minutes and it was perfect! Everyone loved it. It was so easy to make and does not require a mixer. I will definitely make this again!

The directions were flawless just as written. This was an easy recipe and presents beautifully. Using semi-sweet chocolate chips (as the recipe calls for) produces a perfect sweetness–not candy bar sweet, but closer to a brownie.

I liked it, but it is very rich. Good with ice cream.

delicious warm with a little vanilla ice cream especially

I love this pie – with peanut butter as a substitute for the coconut…

I work at a Country Club making desserts for dinner service as well as special events. It’s is delicious. This is one of the house favorites!

I made two of these, one with pecans and one without. They were both very soft, even after baking a little extra time and leaving them covered on the counter overnight. Because they were so soft and gooey, they didn’t slice pretty, it was more like scooping it out. Next time I will probably cook them an extra 10-15 minutes and refrigerate them overnight. But the pies are absolutely delicious!! I will definitely be making this again.

I love brownies so my wife was trying to find something similar to make for our anniversary. I am not a fan of coconut but I still liked it. My wife served it with a scoop of ice cream which just made it better.

We really enjoyed this pie. I used walnuts because that’s what I had on hand. We didn’t have any vanilla ice cream, but I’m sure that would have been so good! Instead, we heated it in the microwave for about 10 seconds and ate it that way. So good! I will make this again!

This was so delicious, easy and most definitely satisfied our chocolate cravings! I didn’t have any pecans so I just tossed in some toffee chips because I figured “what the heck?” and just like other reviews, use a shortbread crust. Amazing!!

An easy hit!
