By flavoring the oats with apple butter and chai tea instead of sugar, you may reduce your calorie intake while maintaining a substantial serving. Try adding toasted pecans, a diced banana, or fresh blueberries as an extra topping if you feel like it. Serve cold or reheat in the microwave for one minute.

These overnight oats were just ok for me. While the chai flavor comes through wonderfully, I just feel that the oats were missing something in the flavor department. They’re also quite soupy unless you add extra oats (or also some ground flax meal in my case). Additional honey was needed–because they weren’t sweet enough otherwise. I think the biggest issue I had is that I like my overnight oats to be a bit creamy; and with just the tea, almond milk, and apple butter, there’s nothing to give it that creaminess. I don’t think these are bad by any means, but they just weren’t a favorite for me. Thank you for the recipe!
I loved how easy this came together. I like thicker oatmeal so I added an additional 1/4 cup of oats. It was also yummy when I added chopped up apple and a little bit of cinnamon.
Tastes great, a little soupy for my taste but otherwise good.
I liked the flavors in this! I did add a little honey b/c I did want it a bit sweeter, but that’s a personal preference. I may add some raisins next time. I would make this again for a quick, healthy breakfast! Thanks for sharing. 🙂
