Sour Berry Blast Slushy

  4.5 – 2 reviews

I enjoy cooking this dish for my loved ones, friends, and even for myself. I enjoy the tart kick. If you don’t notify the person you served it to that it’s sour, it’s funny! Excellent for gatherings, the summer, and parties.

Prep Time: 5 mins
Total Time: 5 mins
Servings: 2
Yield: 2 servings

Ingredients

  1. 8 ice cubes
  2. ¾ cup water
  3. ½ cup frozen mixed berries
  4. ½ cup fresh mixed berries
  5. ¼ cup lemon juice, or to taste
  6. 2 tablespoons white sugar
  7. 1 splash orange juice

Instructions

  1. Blend ice cubes, water, frozen berries, fresh berries, lemon juice, sugar, and orange juice together in a blender until a slushy consistency is reached, about 30 seconds.
  2. To make recipe less tart, add more sugar or less lemon juice.
  3. More ice cubes will make slushy less like juice and more like something you would eat with a spoon.

Really refreshing! I used lime instead of the lemon because I did not have enough lemon juice and the only other thing was that I did not have OJ so I didn’t put it in but otherwise followed the recipe exactly.

Made and photographed as written and while the taste was great, it came out quite runny and nowhere near slushy. I recommend adding double the ice cubes to start with. I really enjoyed the tartness and this is one I’ll make again on those hot summer days.
