Why doesn’t anybody mention whether or not the eggs should be ice-cold right out of the refrigerator or a bit warmer? This would surely impact the results. Stop publishing this garbage!

I love Ina but this recipe was a disaster for me. I followed the directions to the letter, but the shells would not come off without taking much of the eggs with them. I ended up cutting them in half with the shells still on and telling my guests to scoop them out with a spoon. Very embarrassing.

Perfect

This ruined my eggs. I should have just boiled my eggs at high for 6 mins for soft boiled, 8 mins for hard boiled. no simmering nonsense or lowering the heat.

I mean you can’t really mess this up but made the perfect eggs for my ramen with pork

Perfection! My first time making soft-boiled eggs came out perfectly!!

Great! Worked perfectly maybe mention the eggs don’t have to be fully submerged.

Maybe I was supposed to peel the eggs at some point? I followed these directions precisely, but the shells were still very crunchy and hard to eat.

I haven’t made these but perhaps if the eggs were at room temperature before cooking they may turn out. Also add a little vinegar for easy peeling.. let me know if this works. Going to try it myself..

So easy to make and they turned out perfect. Only problem was peeling them. Some of the egg did come off with the shell if I didn’t peel them slowly. Since I was just eating them myself it wasn’t a big deal.
