I made these for an appetizer pot luck. Used Sweet Baby Ray’s no sugar added BBQ sauce and followed the recipe. They came out delicious!
This was a hit at Easter! I used Impossible meatballs, as we have several vegetarians in the family, left out the green peppers and substituted onion powder for onion for my picky kiddo. We served with pretzel and Hawaiian slider buns, but some chose to eat them straight out of the crock pot! The carnivores couldn’t tell they were veggie meatballs and everyone raved over how good these were! A nice way to elevate the classic cocktail meatball – yummy!
Super easy & very tasty. I made it closely as written … used red & green bell peppers & topped it off with some green onion. The only reason I did not give 5 stars is it is a bit too sweet. I will try it again & adjust it to be a bit more savory. Hard to do with the sweet BBQ sauce & the pineapples & pineapple juice.
Super yummy and will make it again. I’ll try different kinds of BBQ sauces to test different flavors but this time I used sweet heat Mr. Stubbs. Didn’t have garlic powder so I did some dried minced garlic and garlic salt. Served over mashed potatoes instead of rice! Left off the peppers; we aren’t keen on them. Super easy!
Was tasty, sure it was because of the bbq and pineapple. Wish I’d added more onion and maybe larger chunks of peppers but on the whole, everyone liked it. Made zoodles and broccoli on the side.
I made this last week, I made a couple of minor changes. I had some honey and did a drizzle of honey, and didn’t use as much bbq sauce. Also used garlic instead of the powder. I also made some jasmine rice in my rice cooker! Definitely a hit!
Thief’s a good meal and relatively easy to make, not too many steps. I used turkey meatballs and cooked it on the stove instead of in a crockpot, for about 1 hour and 10 minutes on med heat.
