This slow cooker cream of broccoli soup is a superb soup that is quite simple to prepare. Kids adore it!

Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 2 (10 ounce) packages frozen chopped broccoli, thawed
- 2 (10.5 ounce) cans cream of celery soup
- 1 (10.5 ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup
- 21 ounces milk
- 1 cup shredded American cheese
Instructions
- Heat vegetable oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add onion; cook and stir until soft, 5 to 7 minutes. Drain as much liquid from the onion as possible; transfer onion into a slow cooker.
- Add broccoli, celery soup, and condensed soup to the slow cooker. Fill the condensed soup can twice with milk, and pour it into the slow cooker. Add American cheese, and stir to combine.
- Cover and cook on Low until broccoli is tender and flavors meld, 3 to 4 hours.

Used two lbs of home-grown broccoli, added two cups of cheddar and one can each of Cream of Broccoli, Cream of Celery and Broccoli Cheddar soup. Came out nice and thick and creamy, thanks for sharing.

Great recipe with great flavor! I will say though, that I changed the soups… instead of using 2 celery and a mushroom, I used a cream of chicken, cream of celery, and a cream of mushroom (the cream of celery and chicken were Campbell’s healthy request with less sodium and calories). I, also, as other reviewers, added more cheese…I didn’t see how 1 cup of cheese was going to be enough. I think I used about 3 1/2 to 4 cups. I added a little black pepper, and heavy cream. Will make again!

Super quick prep, I used (Pesto sauce instead of vegetable oil to cook down the onions. Little bit extra flavor.
it is good in a pinch– hearty meal when added with a salad or sandwich. I used low sodium choices for the canned soup.
I have been making this soup for many years. I do not use cream of mushroom soup. I only use celery soup and I sometimes use Swiss cheese instead of American cheder cheese. We have a large garden and sometimes I use some fresh dill or basal in the soup. It is a great one for cold winter nights.

VERY easy to make, and delishhus!! I didn’t have broccoli, so I used California Blend ( frozen), and mashed the veggies lightly after cooking til soft. Also, just added the onions, finely diced, in the pot without grilling them first, but they were wondrful too!! Will definatley make tis again and again. also,, added more water as it was a tad too thick for my taste in soup.. but it would be great for a hearty meal soup on a cold night!
I made this and the flavor was all there, but it was way too thick. I will try this again with the same flavorings, but will have to find a way to make it less thick.
I will admit I used this recipe more as a starting point. I picked random Cream of ___ Soup like Cream of Broccoli or Cream of Potato etc. I added a LOT more cheese than called for, I eyeballed it but it’s at least quadrupled, and I used sharp cheddar. I also added a lot of pepper for my personal taste. I love this soup!! I’ve gotten really good feedback from my family as well. My husband likes to add bacon to his personal servings.
Added two extra cups of cheese, an extra can of milk, salt and pepper, and 3 tablespoons of butter.
Fast and simple soup. I added extra cheese at the end. It was good but the flavors didn’t really stand out that much.
Made this soup b/c a neighbor gave us several bunches of broccoli. I only used the tops b/c the stalks were woody. I used more than the recipe calls for. Also, I didn’t use the cheese in the recipe; instead I had shredded cheese on the table. I also added Guinness to the recipe. Very yummy.
I didn’t make any changes to it. It is too strong on the celery flavor. I don’t think I’d use the cream of celery soup. It adds a sour taste. I chose it bec. it looked easy and fast to prepare.
