Slow Cooker BBQ Apple Cider Pulled Pork

Apple cider-based slow-cooked pulled pork. One of the greatest and simplest recipes I’ve ever used for pulled pork. Serve in a sandwich or whatever you like.

Yield: 6 servings

Ingredients

  1. 4 pork tenderloin cutlets
  2. 1 cup sparkling apple cider, or more as needed
  3. ΒΌ cup brown sugar
  4. 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  5. 1 (18 ounce) bottle honey barbecue sauce, or to taste
  6. salt and ground black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Place pork into the bottom of a slow cooker and pour cider over the meat until it is covered. Add brown sugar and cinnamon, making sure they’re in the cider and not on the sides of the slow cooker.
  2. Cover and cook on Low until pork shreds easily, 7 to 12 hours.
  3. Transfer pork carefully to a plate or bowl, being careful it doesn’t fall apart in the cider. Shred using 2 forks. Stir in barbecue sauce.
  4. Nutrition data for this recipe includes the full amount of barbecue sauce. The actual amount of barbecue sauce consumed will vary.
