Simple Stir-Fry Sauce

Ingredients

  1. ¾ cup cold water
  2. ½ cup soy sauce
  3. 2 ½ tablespoons brown sugar
  4. 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  5. 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  6. ¾ teaspoon chili powder
  7. ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
  8. ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper

Instructions

  1. Whisk water, soy sauce, brown sugar, cornstarch, ginger, chili powder, garlic powder, and black pepper together in a medium saucepan.
  2. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until sauce begins to bubble and thicken, about 5 minutes. Remove from heat.
  3. To use, when your stir-fry vegetables begin to soften in oil, add sauce, cover, and cook until vegetables are tender. Remove cover to thicken if necessary. Serve over rice.

VERY simple, VERY tasty!! I used it with beef, and the beef juices really added something to this recipe. I would likely not use this recipe with chicken. Excellent!!
