The flavour is terrific! One of my family members usually suggests I not use Parmesan cheese, but there was no complaint about this salad. That’s huge! I agree one needs to be careful of dressings. Because I cannot digest sweet onion/onion powder, etc, I use only chives or onion greens, and make my own Italian seasoning and dressing, too. It’s always fresh! The basic recipe appealed to me because I usually have all the ingredients. I would appreciate having an approximate volume measurement instead of “2 cucumbers” because the size of cucumbers ranges from minis to large English cucumbers. The same holds for tomatoes. I had only grape tomatoes on hand, so I had to guess at the amount here, too. That’s not a problem most of the time, but it could be daunting for novice chefs! In the directions, Step 4 is already part of step 3. Just a note – partly amusing, partly perplexing. Why do people rave about a recipe and then say they changed almost everything?

Good recipe. I used Ken’s Light Italian Dressing…perfect pasta salad. There were no leftovers; family loved it!

Use Kraft Zesty Italian and this is a hit. I did use English cucumber and cherub tomato’s cut in half. Nothing is left at the end of meal !!

I wouldn’t use a bottled dressing with this recipe. The sodium content seems too high to be healthy.

Great lite salad. Used cherry tomatoes. Tried creamy valdalia onion dressing which was really tasty. Next time I use Italian dressing I’ll add feta cheese. This is good for summer

This was a very pleasant surprise. I thought maybe it might not have enough ingredients to be flavorful. But it did and it was great!!! I used tri color penne, because that is what I had in the pantry.

This was a great pasta salad that I had made for our small family gathering for Labor Day and birthday celebration. I had only used 12oz of Italian dressing because that is all I had. I used the Olive Garden dressing and it was just enough for the salad. I thought 160z that was mentioned to use, was little too much. I used a red onion chopped rather than green onions. It gave it a good flavor to add to the salad. Next time I will add black olives or maybe green bell pepper would also be a good addition to the salad. This was an easy, simple and delicious pasta salad to make for any celebration!! Will definitely be making this again!!

It was delicious- I used fewer tomatoes than the recipe called for, and used an orange bell pepper. Sitting overnight makes it even better!

I loved it, it was a nice change from what I had in my routine.

My wife and I LOVE pasta salad! And this recipe was no exception. Because we try (try being key word) to be a little more health conscious, we do without the salted boiled water. Oddly enough we where out of Italian seasoning so we made do with oregano, and as you can tell in the picture we add broccoli. I read in one the the reviews about a displeasing with this recipe because of the choice of dressing they chose; I’m not sure how their choice reflects of overall performance of this recipe, buuuuuut we used Tuscan Garden Zesty Italian (from Aldi) and I am satisfied with that option. Which I may add also has NO high fructose corn syrup.

I made this recipe for my son’s birthday party with around 50 people in attendance and this recipe was a massive hit. This was so easy. Following the recipe as written is delicious and worthy of the rating, but I also added cubed pepperjack cheese, chopped pepperonis, and half a red pepper.

I loved it

I was introduced to this recipe about 16 years ago and I’ve loved it since day 1! It’s excellent as is but is so versatile. You can add chunks of ham, pepperoni, black olives, bell peppers, anything you like!

My daughter loves taking this for her school lunch. Very yummy and easy to make.
