Made no changes and it came out dry. Apples were under-cooked. Tried to cook it an extra 30 minutes but no change.

Can I give zero stars? Whoever made this had to have left out something. It wasn’t crisp. It wasn’t sweet. Nor was it any good. A waste of good ingredients. I followed exactly as described. Made a mess. The oats were just oats. No crumble. No crisp. I’m very disappointed. The previous reviews were for what? Not this for sure.

Based on other reviews, I did not add honey or oil but did add extra butter. Using the 9″ pie pan as directed, there was too much crumb mixture; so, I also made a peach crisp. Both were yummy!

I added chopped almonds.

This was a useful recipe, but it calls for way, way too much sugar (I halved it and it is still very sweet). Also, I find it helps to add a bit of orange juice with lemon (a quarter cup or so) to the baking dish keep the apples tart and moist while it is cooking.

Recently returned home and in self isolation with limited supplies in our local groceries stores. Needed a recipe to use up an over abundance of apples but no flour to be found, only instant oatmeal on hand. This was the perfect solution! Easy to make and utterly delicious. Made it twice already this week! Served Ruth vanilla yogurt – heaven.

I’m not sure how the person commenting it was too soupy and sweet made the recipe, but this is a great flourless dessert. It wasn’t soupy at all and Apple crisp should be sweet lol. Thank you for the recipe!! I will be using this again.

It was a very tasty recipe though I would add a bit less brown sugar next time. That’s just my personal preference. Worked great because my partner isn’t supposed to eat any flour.

This gets really soupy and it’s overly sweet.

A delicious gluten free addition to brunch! Didn’t have honey on hand so used molasses and corn syrup.

I had to make a few changes because I did not have any gf oats in the house but I had apples. I used a combo of granny smith and honey crisp apples. I ran cheerios through the food processor to get a similar consistency to oatmeal and used that in place of the oatmeal. I cut the honey down to a quarter of cup because of this. I used almost a tablespoon of cinnamon. I also baked it for an additional 15 minutes. It came to amazing! The crumble was so good! I will make this again with oatmeal and my rating may change to 5 stars!

Really tasty, nice easy recipe. The only modification I have made each time I make this is to toss the apple slices in a good coating of cinnamon as well. Last time I only did a touch of oil and more honey and it was a bit thicker, which was nice too.

As flour-less Apple crisps go, this was very good. My Mother-in-law with Celiacs disease was able to enjoy it (made with gluten free oats) and on a gluten-free scale would give this five stars! I omitted the honey and added more brown sugar and butter.
