Chocolate and cream, or butter, are combined to make ganache. It is possible to make ganache either thick enough to serve as a filling for truffles or thin enough to use as a gloss. ‘Thin’ Ganache can be whipped into a filling for cakes or melted to serve as a glaze. Utilize chocolate of the highest caliber you can discover.

This is now my go to recipe for chili. Very simple ingredients and doesn’t take long. The chili powder is what makes this pop! I served it with white rice, but it’s just as good on its own in a bowl by itself. If there’s any leftovers this makes great chili dogs!
This turned out great! This will be my go-to for now on. It turned out savory and really thick, just like how I like it. I made a few adjustments to get this result: -Traded a can of kidney beans for pinto beans -Drained & rinsed the beans (if you don’t like thick chili, I wouldn’t drain, but I love really thick chili) -Instead of salt & pepper, I used a couple of my fav all-purpose seasonings and Harlem garlic pepper in both the beef and base -Used McCormick’s mild chili seasoning instead of typical chili powder -Added a couple of tablespoons of Zydeco Chop Chop This was so good! The flavor reminds me a bit of Wendy’s chili; I think it’s the vinegar.
Perfect chili for non-fanatics. Perfect balance of spices (which of course you can adjust if desired). I added some sweet red and green peppers. Didn’t add corn but would have been a great addition. Also added a couple Tbsp cocoa powder for that hint of smokiness.
It would be better with chopped bell peppers.
I didn’t have a can of crushed tomatoes so I used a quarter of a can of pasta sauce and half a cup of chopped tomatoes
I had to change to a 5 quart pot because it was overflowing in the 2 quart saucepan recipe calls for. I followed the recipe to a T other than adding 1 tbsp of private selection memphis inspired bbq sauce and 1 tbsp of private selection kansas city inspired bbq sauce and 1/2 tsp of colgin hickory liquid smoke. In process of boiling then simmering hoping its as good as it smells
I did not enjoy this. The vinegar ruined it for me. I even added half the amount it calls for and it was too much. It also felt like it was missing ingredients. I ended up adding more chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika and green bell pepper. After doctoring it some, it was edible, but I would not make again or recommend. There are tons of better chili recipes on this site.
I only used one can of crushed tomatoes and one can of kidney beans. It was absolutely delicious. My go to chili recipe.
We really liked this chili but I did add some medium hot salsa which gave it a bit more zing. I will make it again.
It was simple and delicious. I made it just the way the recipe calls and everyone enjoyed it!
It’s a great simple recipe that I happened to have everything in my cupboard for! I added pepper flakes and a bit of brown sugar it went over very well. We had chili cheese fries thank you for the recipe!
One of my favorite go-to chili recipes. Delicious! Made no changes except that I used ground turkey instead of beef.
This was GREAT!!! I am trying to stay away from packaged seasoning and making things from scratch due to my husband’s kidney disease and this one is a keeper.
I made this last night and it was delicious!!! I made it vegetarian by using Beyond Meat patties (looked like ground beef when I cooked them) and used diced tomatoes instead of crushed for a chunkier texture. Instead of chili powder I used taco seasoning from the Winco bulk section and it was subtly spicy and so flavorful. Officially a staple in my kitchen! Great recipe, thanks!
I thought my husband would like this recipe since he doesn’t lIke spicy chili and avoids peppers and onions. He didn’t. It did seem t miss something. I do think it is a good baseline for a chili recipe.
Love this recipe. Quick and easy.
This is a good, basic chili recipe as-is. I added some celery seed, cumin, cinnamon, and unsweetened cocoa, which my family liked. Will make again.
Made it. Fed 6 and had enough for the best part..chili dogs he next day!
Doubled the recipe. Added more garlic (love garlic), 2more tbs chili Pwdr, 3 tbs freshly chopped lovage, red wine vinegar instead of white. Everyone had 2 servings they loved it so much. Ruined my plan for leftovers :))
This is an excellent basic chili recipe. The results were delicious just as written. But. I think I will add some bell pepper next time to jazz it up a bit.
Very basic yet good recipe. Can be ready in less than 1 hour.
