Absolutely LOVEEE ITT!!! A trick what I do is.. heat my pan on high put my usunsalted butter on the pan to melt it’ll turn brown but once you put those onions on sautee and fragrance wise you’ll know to turn down heat family loved this have used this recipe time and time again. Live in Washington so maybe it’s a home grown secret.
Simply delicious comfort food that is to easy to make. It’s very open to your own interpretation and liking…
I was skeptical of this but needed a change from boring old hot dogs. This was delicious. Whole family loved it.
Can’t get much easier than this recipe, but it tastes so unique that it’s almost gourmet! In addition, there’s very little mess if you sauté your onions on the lowest heat until they just begin to soften. I used purple onions and longer solid beef hotdogs; the flavor was great and the colors were nice looking in combination (no, the purple onions were not too harsh, it’s all a matter of how you cook them). If you want something super-simple that your family and company will enjoy for a change, this is the one!
Wonderful mixture of flavors. Best Hot Dog I’ve ever had!
Omgosh…..who would think in SC, of a hotdog with cream cheese?? I’m game to try new things, so this was it. I followed the recipe, and we LOVED them. Definitely toast the buns so they do not get soggy. Will definitely have them again. MGH
This was DELICIOUS! The best part was the cream cheese! We forgot to add mustard, but we will next time! Either way, they were amazing! My BF asked for this to be made twice a month.. BTW, being from Western New York, we use Sahlen’s hot dogs..
Everyone writes about the sauerkraut recipe from this site. I cannot find it. Will someone give me more info on the recipe.
Although I’m not a big fan of mustard, onion and sauerkraut, this came out pretty good. I don’t have a grill or an indoor grill–so I cooked the turkey hot dogs in the oven for a few minutes and left the buns not toasted. Delicious and filing.
The only change I made was using a healthier option for my meat….. chicken sausages. I also gave a quick warming to the cream cheese via the microwave. Other than that, all was the same and I found it excellent. Seemed to be a strange concoction of ingredients like others had stated however they blended nicely. I will definitely do again! Thanx for the recipe!
Oh my! These are so good! We aren’t big sauerkraut fans, but I serve these with the sauerkraut hot dog topping from this site and it’s delicious.
There are really good! Followed the recipe but just topped with some sliced jalapenos . Thanks for the recipe!
My girlfriend and I were both quite sceptical about adding cream cheese on a hotdog but so glad we did. We both loved it. This is now my new favourite way to prepare hotdogs.
Being from Seattle (although we moved away many years ago) I just had to try this recipe. Ingredients seem odd but WOW these are great! Will make again for sure.
My boys loved these!!
We love these! I never expected cream cheese and hot dogs would go together so well! A hearty after game treat!
My husband grew up just outside of Seattle and I can’t believe he held out on me about these for so many years!!! He casually mentioned them a couple of weeks ago and I said “OMG, cream cheese on a hot dog…yes please!”. Funny how something so simple can turn out to be so delicious!
Great start to the true Seattle dog! One thing is missing, however… the smoked salmon! If you don’t like fish, do bacon. Our little town in eastern Washington did this and it was perfection in your hand. Thank you for specifying Walla Walla onions! Nothing grills up better than those 🙂
These were good but not my favorite way to fix hotdogs.
Excellent.
The sauerkraut is a must; and speaking as a born and bred Seattle-ite, I guess it’s true, everything from Seattle is awesome!!!
