Easy and delicious. Followed the directions as is. No alterations.
I ate it for breakfast and it was so delicious .
Very, very good I made this twice: First time this original recipe, second time used 9 eggs, sausage and ham, schredded red potatoes with grated apples, the apples cut down on the salt and gave just a hint of sweetness that everyone loved.
Very good. I did forget to buy the country gravy, so I improvised with a pack of ranch dressing. Choosing to use 1/2 of a pack. Did substitute sweet onion for the green and all the store had were hashbrowns with pepper and onion. I like to season so added onion powder and a little garlic powder as well as pepper. I added 2 additional eggs to the recipe. Overall turned out tasty. The recipe is good and I’m sure the country gravy would of been great in it. In today’s market improvising is much needed.
This is my third time trying to leave this review. Recipe was good. Only major change was that I stirred everything together instead of layering. And used more eggs.
I made this this morning and didn’t use the overnight method suggested. I made one change and used hash brown patties that I thawed (half way anyway) and fried in the air fryer until just browned. I used a package of pepper country gray. I added half the cheese and covered with foil for 45 minutes. I then uncovered added the rest of the cheese plus about half a cup extra. Mine was done in 50 minutes and was DELISH!! It wasn’t quick to prep since I added a step with the patties but I’m going to definitely make it again. Almost forgot I used 7 eggs
Love this recipe. I’ve made it several times. Again when there are leftovers (we’re only 2 people) I freeze in portions and wrap individually then freeze. When I want to have it I either defrost or put it right in the toaster oven to reheat it covered. It’s delicious
This is an easy, filling and tasty recipe that I make regularly. I replace the green onion with a small can of drained diced green chiles to add a smokey heat. I highly recommend this recipe.
I did not make any ingredient changes, but did add a bit more Green Pepper, and next time, I will not add that extra, I think it would have been better without my adjustment. LOL
I did have to make a few changes because I had ham instead of sausage. I used fresh shredded potatoes (no hash browns in the house). I sauteed green onion bottoms In a little butter before adding the potatoes. Then I layered diced ham on top of the potatoes and then I followed the recipe for the rest of it. Sprinkled the chopped onion greens on top. Seems like an easy versatile recipe that my family loved.
I used precooked breakfast potatoes instead of the hash or tots and it was amazing. I advise not to add salt to your eggs as the gravy has plenty.
Definitely not up to my standard.
Good comforting casserole.
I’ve made this multiple times, everyone loves it! however, the first few times I skipped the country gravy mix cuz I didnt have it on hand.. Big mistake! this last time with the gravy mix was fantastic! imo- don’t skip the gravy mix on this one;)
This was barely edible. The ingredients should have been stirred not layered. Too much potatoes and too much sausage.
This got eaten before it cooled down lol! Everyone loved it! Will make again! Didn’t change anything about the recipe it’s good as is!
Delicious and easy! I put it all together in the same skillet I browned the sausage in and refrigerated it while I went outside and did about 51/2 hours of yardwork. When I came back in, I turned on the oven to 325. When I was finished with my Bloody Mary, the over was ready so in went the skillet with lid. After 50 minutes ( since my casserole was cold I added a bit of time), I removed the lid for the remaining 15 minutes so it could get a nice brown color. The house smelled wonderful and the meal was terrific – sliced tomatoes, asparagus, and a delicious casserole. Now THAT’S how you labor on a three day Labor Day Monday.
pretty bland
This was delish! We had friends over for the weekend and this was a big hit all around! I got busy talking and had to add the cheese last instead of layering on top of the hash browns, but it still worked out! Will definitely make again!
It was very well received. Lacked a bit of taste, next time I will use a more piquant cheese.
I used a peppered gravy packet instead of the white gravy sauce . Added more flavor. I also used half of a yellow onion instead of a green one , cooked it
