These are Pennsylvania Dutch Funny Cakes, which include a chocolate “funny” layer that bakes to the bottom and are baked in a pie crust.

Ingredients

  1. 3 tablespoons butter
  2. 3 tablespoons garlic powder
  3. 3 cups hot pepper sauce (such as Frank’s RedHot®)
  4. 3 tablespoons white vinegar

Instructions

  1. Melt butter in a saucepan over low heat; stir in garlic powder until dissolved. Add hot sauce and vinegar to butter mixture; bring to a boil. Remove saucepan from heat.
  2. Has become an instant favorite with everyone who has tried it. Very hard to beat for both flavor and simplicity.
  3. To add extra heat, drop in some jalapeno slices and/or red pepper flakes just before removing the sauce from the burner.
  4. Also works well on top of burgers.

I’ve made several wing recipes from this site over the past week and this one was the best. I scaled the recipe down due to the amount of wings I had but other than that I made as written. The added garlic gives these a nice touch. You can’t go wrong with this one!
