Ingredients

  1. 4 fresh basil leaves
  2. 1/2 ounce molasses
  3. 1 1/4 ounces whiskey, preferably Elijah Craig
  4. Juice of 1/2 lime
  5. Ginger beer, for topping off

Instructions

  1. Muddle 3 basil leaves and the molasses in a glass. Add the whisky, lime juice and ice and stir. Top with some ginger beer and garnish with the remaining basil leaf.

This is a very tasty and refreshing drink. We made it per the recipe, I always have fresh basil growing in the garden. There was a little undissolved molasses in the bottom of the glass, will work to blend better before serving next time. Used Bundaberg brand ginger beer. Make this, I’ll be you”ll enjoy it!
