Ingredients

  1. 1 cup roasted hazelnuts, roughly chopped
  2. 1 cup roasted cashews, roughly chopped
  3. 1 cup old-fashioned oatmeal
  4. 1/2 cup sliced or slivered almonds
  5. 1/2 cup sweetened, shredded coconut
  6. 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
  7. 2 tablespoons honey

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  2. To make the granola, toss the hazelnuts, cashews, oatmeal, almonds, coconut, oil, and honey together in a large bowl until they are completely combined. Pour onto a sheet pan and bake, stirring occasionally with a metal spatula, until the mixture turns an even golden brown, about 20 minutes.
  3. Remove the granola from the oven, scrape the pan with the spatula to loosen the granola, and allow to cool, stirring once.

Yummy! So simple and sweet. I used macadamia nuts instead of the hazelnuts. 🙂

My son made all the recipes from this episode for a school project and the granola is a new favorite! I put 2 tbsp on my yogurt every day and he has to make me a new batch whenever I run out! Crunchy, flavorful, and hits the spot!

I had a lot of nuts left over from Christmas. I doubled the recipe and used hazel nuts, pecans, brazil nuts and slivered almonds. I baked for the recommended 20 minutes and had no problem with burning as some other reviewers stated. When I took the granola out I wanted it to be a little stickier so I drizzled LITTLE bit of extra honey over the top and baked for an additional 7 minutes or so till toasted. Oh yeah, I added chopped craisins. Delicious!

Delicious!! This recipe can be adapted in so many ways! I love to add some dried fruit (after it’s cooked. If you have a really hot oven, check it every 5 minutes… it does brown fast.

It’s a nice-tasting granola–I really enjoy the nuttiness and the taste of the honey. I also added dried cranberries–1/2 cup chopped. l I found that it browns much more quickly than I expected; mine was done at 15 minutes. I’d set the timer for 5 minutes less than the recipe calls for and then check it. It’s a lot of expensive ingredients to have to throw away because they scorched.

Amazing! Delicious! Easy! Modified for what I wanted in way of nuts. Delicious! Added some Cayenne pepper for added heat!
