Although my adolescents aren’t huge fans of roasts, they adore this one! If you enjoy spicy food, it might not be for you because the gravy has a hint of sweetness to it.

My husband loved this. Very tender.
Very good/I would change the brown sugar to 1/4 cup. Otherwise delish….
I used a bottom round and golden mushroom soup. The gravy was the savior of this recipe. Bottom round is fairly lean and although tender, was very dry after resting. The gravy tasted fantastic and gave much needed moisture back to the meat. Will try again next time I have chuck roast. Hopefully that will be more moist.
quick and easy and sooooo good.
I substituted apple cider vinegar for white distilled vinegar (because I didn’t have any). I reduced the brown sugar to 1/3 cup, and did not add additional salt because I think there is enough sodium in the cream of mushroom soup, the onion soup mix and the beef gravy. It came out great!
Delicious! I didn’t change anything except that I didn’t add flour at the end….it didn’t need it. Cooked on high for 6 hours, then low for an hour. I will make this again and again. Thank you!
I have no idea what I’m doing because I’ve been vegetarian for over 10 years. I made this for my family and followed the directions exactly. I looked like a hero! It was so delicious, everyone asked me for the recipe.
I used HALF the brown sugar and HALF the vinegar and I can say that I sure wouldn’t want it sweeter than this.
I was concerned about a half cup of sugar but it really came out well. I added a package of sliced mushrooms and a diced clove of garlic. Pro tip on the gravy, if you make mashed potatoes save 1/2-3/4 cup of the hot potato water and add it to the sauce. Thin your flour with cold water to make a medium viscosity slurry and add then stir over heat until thick. The starch in the potato water helps thicken and the gravy is wonderful.
Delicious flavor. I used a different beef cut than chuck, forget what it was now. Also, just used a 10oz can of Cream of Mushroom soup and a 12oz jar of beef gravy. It made plenty of gravy. This recipe is a keeper!
The gravy was way too sweet. It was just awful.
Yes added carrots and potatoes about 1/2 way thru. Added a bit of water. Served over rice. I did tri tip roast. Would go lighter on brown sugar. Overall easy and nourishing meal.
Great recipe. Taste so good. Easy too.
Very tasty ! For leftovers we cut up the meat and mixed it in the gray and noodles.
This was a very tasty and tender roast. Was not sure I would like the sweet element but the gravy was really good. Will definitely make it again
This was fabulous. My house smelled great all day. I did use the golden mushroom soup and I cut brown sugar in half. Even my picky daughter loved this. This is a keeper for sure.
Great recipe! Cut a lot of fat off meat before putting in crock pot. Only used half the brown sugar and it was plenty. Added some garlic, Greek seasoning, onions and carrots. Did not salt except to taste when done. Served with mashed potatoes. Delicious!
Very good! I felt the gravy was a little on the sweet side but my husband loved it! I may cut down the amount of brown sugar next time. I cooked it on high for 5 hours and then turned off the cooker and let it stay warm for another 30min. It was perfectly done.
Awesome roast! I used a pot roast and just made up a cup of beef bouillon for the beef gravy. I also used little yellow potatoes and just threw them in.
Everyone loved it.
I would add a photo but it was devoured before I had a chance to take one!
