- Turn summer drinks into firecrackers by coating the glass rims with Pop Rocks. Just dampen with lemon juice, then dip the rims in the candies on a plate. To get the red-white-and-blue effect, use Tropical Punch (blue) Pop Rocks, then fill the glasses with any red drink or cocktail; we mixed pomegranate and cranberry juice with seltzer.

My family loved it
Great idea. I´ll try this year
I made this last year and the Pop Rocks didn’t stick to the glass. They just clumped together right after I opened them and put them on a plate. I was very disappointed becuase this looked like such a fun idea. Regarding comments below about there not being a recipe…this is just an idea for a neat way to decorate a glass. There isn’t supposed to be a recipe.
The reason there isn’t a recipe is because this was from Food Network Magazine and the article just said to make a red cocktail and suggested using cranberry-pomegranete juice, seltzer water, and vodka. The drink was good but nothing special but the major dissapointment was that the pop rocks did not stick at all. They get too sticky once they get just a tiny bit damp and they all clump together without sticking to the glass at all. I thought this was going to be so fun for the 4th of July… major disappointment 🙁
There IS no recipe! It’s the idea of using pop rocks for the rim of a drink instead of sugar or salt…I think it’s a good and creative idea!
You can not go wrong with this one. The possibilities are endless. Use any
juice and sodas you want and make it your own. I give it a two thumbs up!
