Quick and Easy Apple Tart

Ingredients

  1. 1 whole sheet frozen puff pastry (half a 17-ounce package), thawed and cut in half
  2. Nonstick cooking spray
  3. 1/4 cup brown sugar
  4. A pinch of salt
  5. 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  6. 1 large apple, cored, halved and sliced, but not peeled
  7. Store-bought caramel sauce, for serving
  8. 1/4 cup chopped pecans

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.
  2. Place the puffed pastry rectangles onto a rimmed baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Add the sugar, salt and lemon juice to the apples in a large bowl. Stir to combine. Allow to sit for a few minutes.
  3. Arrange the apple slices on the pastry rectangles in a straight line, overlapping as you go. (Leave the juices behind in the bowl.) Bake until the pastry is puffed and golden brown, about 20 minutes.
  4. Remove the tarts from the baking sheet immediately and place on a serving platter. Serve with caramel sauce and chopped pecans.

Delicious and quick and easy!

This was so easy and delicious! I have this great Apple Pie spice from Penzey’s so I tossed some in the mixture to coat the apples. I used Trader Joe’s Fleur de Sel caramel sauce for the drizzle. I’m not a dessert person, but I could not stop eating these scrumptious little treats! It’s so easy to double, so I did! Yum!

So easy! Turned out gorgeous and everyone LOVED it. I will say that three apples made four tarts, so I used up both of the puff pastry sheets. I did thaw the pastry first (haha) and use the pecans and a tiny amount of caramel topping. Oh so delicious! I cut my apples really thin, so maybe that is why three apples made four tarts? Not sad. So good.

This was delicious … but the recipe doesn’t match the video. And I didn’t use the cooking spray because I didn’t see directions to do so, just listen in the ingredients.

Delicious.. I used a mandolin for the apples and added only 1/3 cup of sugar. Added a sprinkle of cinnamon and topped with a drizzle of caramel sauce. Excellent!

This recipe is delicious. However we cut our brown sugar tohalf a cup. Also, we put cinnamon on ours.

The apple dessert was really good but for my second patch, I made some changes. First, I removed/peeled the apples. Ree doesn’t peel the skin from the apples and I didn’t like the texture of the skin from my first patch I made. Second, I omitted the pecans. It isn’t necessary to have pecans on it. Third, at 425, my first patch burned the corners. So second batch I set oven to preheat to 425, and after putting the apple dessert in, I immediately turned oven down to 375 and baked for about 15 -20 minutes–checking it several times throughout baking. Delicious! Thank you Mrs. Drummond for the quick and easy recipe.
