Ingredients
- 1 whole ripe pineapple
- 1 whole ripe pineapple
Instructions
- Quarter the pineapple lengthwise. Using a thin, sharp knife cut core away from each wedge by making a shallow slice the length of the pineapple. Follow the skin of the pineapple and cut the fruit away from it using your knife, keeping the green tops attached. Next, cut pineapple into 1/2-inch slices. Each quarter pineapple will now hold several wedges. Separate fruit by sliding wedges alternately to the left then to the right. Each completed pineapple serving will look like a boat filled with the fruit slices.

Reviews
I feel sure this recipe left out EVOO so I added it. This recipe is horrible.
I have been sliding one of the wedges alternatively left and then right for over an hour, and STILL not only have I not achieved the glories of Ms. Ray’s photograph. Not only that, but my sliced pineapple is turning brown. Am I missing something? An ingredient like lemon juice or “Touch of Dutch Natural Fruit and Veggie Fresh”? I’m stymied!
I made this recipe as stated except I used a spoon instead of a knife and I had a kiwi instead of a knife. This was terrible, I can’t imagine people giving this recipe 5 stars, it tasted nothing like pineapple and certainly didn’t look like the pictures. I will definitely be looking for another pineapple wedge recipe in the future.
This was such a difficult and time consuming recipe. I am waiting patiently for her water and/or ice recipe….
Previously I was trying to turn pineapples into boats using telekinesis. But of course, a KNIFE! It seems so simple now. I gave this one star because the recipe does not tell you that the spikes on the outside of the pineapple are a challenge to digest.
Rachael, I have literally been standing in my kitchen for eight and a half years with a pineapple in one hand and a meat cleaver in the other, trying to figure out the best way to prepare these sumptuous hors d’oeuvres for my Surrendered Wife Support Group. Thank the dear Lord one of my “girls” found this link and saved us all from scurvy! Obviously I can’t even breathe without your guidance, and I’ll never try to do so again.
Is this recipe from one of your books? Because I am so totally buying your books now!
my pineapples don’t look like boats! could it have something to do with the fact that i used a dull knife?
I tried this recipe and I blacked out! The next think I know I’m in a Bankok emergency room missing half my organs! Other than that it was ok.
I didn’t have a knife, so I tried smashing the pineapple with a hammer. Now my floor has a big hole in it. Not happy.
