A quick, delectable strawberry sauce that is perfect for summer is made using fresh strawberries and sugar.

Prep Time: 15 mins
Cook Time: 40 mins
Additional Time: 1 hr
Total Time: 1 hr 55 mins
Servings: 10
Yield: 1 loaf

Ingredients

  1. 1 (1 pound) loaf frozen bread dough, thawed
  2. 1 large egg, beaten
  3. 4 ounces sliced pepperoni
  4. 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  5. ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  6. 1 ½ teaspoons Italian seasoning

Instructions

  1. Place thawed dough into a bowl; cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled in volume, about 1 hour.
  2. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  3. Roll dough into a rectangle, then brush with beaten egg and arrange pepperoni over top. Sprinkle mozzarella, Parmesan, and Italian seasoning over pepperoni. Roll dough over fillings like a jelly roll and pinch the seam to seal. Place dough, seam-side down, onto the prepared baking sheet.
  4. Bake in the preheated oven until golden brown, about 40 minutes.
  5. Use a bread knife to cut loaf into slices of your desired size.

I used Pillsbury Pizza crust in refrigerated section of store . Slight rolled a little thiner than how it came. Used egg wash and sprinkled garlic powder and Italian seasoning directly on dough before adding my pepperoni and cheeses. After rolling up jelly roll style, egg washed top and ends and again and more Italian seasoning on top. Served with Classico Traditional Pizza sauce for dipping. Very good!

Very easy to make and tasty! I used the Pillsbury French Loaf so it only needed to bake for 25 minutes. Next time I will serve with marinara sauce for dipping.

The dough used does make a difference as some are sweet. Pizza dough (check size bc some are enough for 2 loaves) or thawed Rhodes frozen bread dough works well. Cooking the thinly sliced pepperoni for 30-60 seconds evenly arranged on top of paper towel and with additional paper towel over top (which absorbs grease as it cooks), reduces amount of grease from the pepperoni, so bread isn’t as greasy. Egg inside is not necessary, and putting sauce inside can make the bread soggy. I use 2 cups of mozzarella and less Italian seasoning. I also bake on parchment paper instead of greasing pan. Mine was done after 25 min. Great dipped in sauce.

Was great! The whole family devoured it. Served Marinara on the side. I did add some Italian seasoning to the top of the bread which was so good.

Everything fell out of the middle on mine. It still tasted good but I had to shove the filling back inside!

I bit dry, needs some extra sauce and cheese, but doesn’t seem to hold it in during baking.

I brushed with olive oil and garlic salt. I added mild pepper rings to give it a little spice. Always a winner in my family and when sliced thin and put on a plate it looks amazing! My husband Loved it ! You can use pizza sauce as a dipper! You can’t go wrong with this one!

This was great. I used Pillsbury French Bread. A little more tough to flatten but really good result. Done in about 25 min but my oven runs hotter than the setting. Very good and quick snack for parties for kids and adults!

Turned out really well. Pretty straightforward and easy recipe. I just ballparked the ingredients. Didn’t measure. Served this with marinara on the side and it was great. Now that I know how easy and tasty this is I’ll be making it more, and experimenting with variations.
